Oleksii Kovalchuk took the chip lead going into heads-up play, but George Danzer stole lead for himself about halfway through Level 27. Kovalchuk took the lead back once again heading into Level 28 and closed out the night shortly after.
Danzer was knocked down to just 230,000 after losing a big showdown to Kovalchuk’s full house on the river. On the final hand of the tournament, Danzer opened the button for 100,000, Kovalchuk reraised to 150,000 from the big blind, Danzer four-bet to 200,000, Kovalchuk five-bet and Danzer called all in.
