Recent Additions To The Field
Oct 18, '19
An influx of new players have made their way to the tournament area and the field is up to 69 entries.
Among the new entries are two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Nipun Java, Andrwe Wisdom and World Poker Tour Champion Mike Shariati.
All three are Southern California locals and are regulars in tournaments at the Bike. Java was one of the first two Indian-born poker players to win a bracelet when he and Aditya Sushant won the $1,000 Tag Team event at the 2017 WSOP. He followed that up with a win in the $1,000 no-limit hold’em online event later that same summer. Java’s lone WSOP Circuit ring came when he won the main event at the Bike in March 2014.
Wisdom, a 25-year-old poker pro won this exact event two years ago in 2017, earning $165,025 in the process. Two months later, he scored a WSOP Circuit ring at the Bike in the $3,250 no-limit hold’em high roller event.
Shariati won the 2016 WPT Legends of Poker main event for $675,542 and finished runner-up at the WPT Los Angeles Poker Classic main event for nearly an identical payout six months later. With those two finishes, he won the WPT Player of the Year race fot the 2016-17 season.

Mike Shariati Talks His Opponent Into A Fold
Oct 19, '19
In a battle of the blinds between Mike Shariati in the small blind and his opponent in the big blind, there was about 3,500 in the pot on the river with a completed board of AQ8J2.
Shariati bet 3,500 and his opponent went into the tank and the World Poker Tour champion began to speak up.
“He’s folding,” said Shariati. “Take his cards. He doesn’t know he’s folding, but he’s folding.”
Shariati begins to slide his hand towards the muck while reiterating that his opponent is on the verge of folding. Eventually, the big blind flashed J-8 and sent his hand into the muck.

Fourth street brought the 5 to the felt and Weinraub checked once again. Shariati bet 4,000 and Weinraub once more decided to stay the course.
The river was the 7 and both players checked. Weinraub showed AJ, prompting a sigh from Shariati. He flashed AT for the same pair with a worse kicker before throwing his hand into the muck.
