Pots Be Choppin'Feb 14, '14 We’ve seen a plethora of chopped pots here today, some of which seemed highly unlikely on most streets. Daniel Pignataro was all in for around 15,000 chips preflop and up against the player in the small blind. Pignataro: J7 The flop brought 463 and Pignataro added a gut shot straight draw to his already plentiful outs. On the turn the 5 popped up and Pignataro hit his straight. Pignataro started counting down his chips as if he’d won the hand, but on the river the 7 popped up and the pot was chopped. Player Tags: DANIEL PIGNATARO Monster for Michael LavoieFeb 14, '14 We missed the start of the beginning of the action but caught up just as the flop was dealt. A player had raised to 3,000 and found seven callers. The dealer spread 842 and the small blind checked. Joe Starratt checked and Michael Lavoie shipped all-in from under the gun. Daniel Pignataro moved-all in over the top . The remaining players got out of the action and the hands were tabled. Lavoie: AK The board completed 7J and Lavoie chipped up to about 123,000. “There is a miracle,” Lavoie said. Player Tags: Michael Lavoie, DANIEL PIGNATARO Joe Starratt Wins a PotFeb 14, '14 Deon Mills raised to 500 from under the gun, Paul Brauer called from middle position, Joe Starratt called from the hijack, James Rubin called from the button, Gennadiy Kostov called out of the small blind and Daniel Pignataro called from the big blind. The dealer fanned Q87 and action checked around to Starratt. Starratt bet 2,500, forcing the rest of the players in the pot to fold and took the chips. Player Tags: James Rubin, Joe Starratt, DANIEL PIGNATARO Pignataro Right Back in ItFeb 14, '14 After having just lost the biggest pot of the tournament it was up to Daniel Pignataro to regain his composure. This proved to be easy as he woke up with pocket aces just a few hands later. We caught the action on the river when the board read 7510KK and Pignataro moved all in after his opponent had checked. Pignataro’s shove was for around 18,000 chips and his opponent called rather quickly. “Just aces,” Pignataro said, as he was visibly a little anxious about the quick call. Pignataro’s opponent showed 59 and that was not enough to take down the pot. After counting down the chips Pignataro turned out to have his opponent just barely covered and he raked in this big pot. Pignataro now sits on around 60,000 chips. Player Tags: DANIEL PIGNATARO Brauer Wins Three-Way All InFeb 14, '14 We just missed an enormous pot on Table 2, but we were lucky to find Joshua Miller kind enough to explain to us what happened. Miller recapped that there were three limpers before Paul Brauer raised to 1,200 from the button. Miller called from the big blind and the three limpers all called as well. The flop brought out K77x and the action was checked to Brauer who bet 2,500. Miller called, the first limper folded and Daniel Pignataro check-raised to 6,500. Ernest Hou was next to act and he moved all in for 18,000 after which Brauer shoved as well for around 30,000 total. Pignataro made the call creating a massive pot and the showdown went as following. Brauer: KxKx Brauer had Pignataro down to the final seven in the deck while Hou was hoping for a runner-runner straight flush. Hou hit his flush on the turn and jumped up from his seat, but it actually meant he was drawing dead. Brauer now sits on around 83,000 chips while Pignataro was left behind with around 29,000 chips. Hou was knocked out and Brauer is now the clear cut chip leader. Player Tags: DANIEL PIGNATARO More For PignataroFeb 15, '14 The board showed 4J3A10 when the player in the big blind bet 4,700 as we picked up the action. Daniel Pignataro raised it up on the river to 13,000 from the cutoff and his opponent went into the tank for over a minute before making up his mind. Eventually Pignataro’s opponent folded as he claimed to lay down aces up. Pignataro remained silent and mucked his cards as he now sits on around 135,000 chips. Player Tags: DANIEL PIGNATARO Pignataro Rakes in a Huge PotFeb 15, '14 Daniel Pignataro just raised to 1,200 from early position and the player to his left three-bet to 4,000. The action was folded back to Pignataro who gave it some thought before four-betting to 10,000. Pignataro’s opponent made the call after about a minute and the flop brought out 3J10. Pignataro bet 10,000 and his opponent tanked for several minutes before moving all in for 24,000. Pignataro called immediately and the showdown went as following. Pignataro: KK The board ran out 3, 2 and Pignataro now sits on around 132,000 chips. Player Tags: DANIEL PIGNATARO Dobrilovic and Pignataro Back For MoreFeb 15, '14 This tournament offers the option for unlimited re-entries and many players used that option yesterday. Daniel Pignataro and Tom Dobrilovic did not survive yesterday’s action but they are back for more today. Dobrilovic is a local grinder with a ton of results all over the east coast. Impressively enough he’s never had a six-figure score but his total live earnings exceed a million dollars. Pignataro has had his share of results as well and his best one so far came right here in the Foxwoods Mega Stack Challenge in May of 2012. Player Tags: DANIEL PIGNATARO, Tom Dobrilovic Dan Pignataro Sent To The Rail In 27th Place ($4,699)Feb 16, '14 Ronnie Pease raised to 15,000 and Chris Schonbach called. Dan Pignataro then moved his short stack all-in and after some thought both of his opponents called. The two check it all the way down on a board of AJ654 and Pignataro flipped up pocket nines, hoping they were best. Pease revealed his A8 however, winning the pot and sending Pignataro to the rail in 27th place with $4,699. Player Tags: DANIEL PIGNATARO Double Up For SilbersteinFeb 16, '14 Daniel Pignataro raised to 10,500 after which Ken Silberstein moved all in for 79,000 from his immediate left. The action was folded back to Pignataro who called creating another all-in showdown. Pignataro: 99 The board ran out KA72J and Silberstein doubled up. Pignataro still has 225,000 remaining while Silberstein is back in it with around 150,000 chips. Player Tags: Ken Silberstein, DANIEL PIGNATARO |
