One For WillersonAug 01, '14 Jim Willerson raised to 2,400 from middle position and found a call from the player in the big blind. The flop fell 475 and action checked to the raiser. Willerson continued for 3,200 and his opponent called. The 3 fell on fourth street, prompting two checks from both active players. The 7 paired the board on the river and put a fourth spade on the board. The big blind checked for a third time and Willerson checked it back. The big blind showed 87 for trip sevens, but they were no good against Willerson’s JJ for a spade flush. Willerson raked in the pot and brought his stack to 31,500. The flop was QJ8 and everybody checked to see the 3 fall on the turn. The big blind led out for 1,600 and was called by Jim Willerson. There was a fold in between before Loe Hornbuckle raised to 5,500. Dan Lowery folded on the button and both the big blind and Willerson called. The river was the K and action checked to Hornbuckle, who moved all in for his last 13,575. The big blind went into the tank for a few moments before folding and Willerson folded as well. Hornbuckle mucks his hand and increases his stack to over 35,000. Willerson came back over the top with a three-bet to 5,300. His opponent called. The 7 completed the board on the river and Willerson continued his aggression with a bet of 7,200. His opponent quickly let his hand go, allowing Willerson to drag the pot. He now has about 30,200 in chips. There are eight bracelets between the three of them, with six belonging to Cloutier. Andy Hwang and Tommy Vedes are also still alive in the event and both have WPT titles to their name. Now, we’ve spied Willerson at the tables here in Choctaw, looking to grab hold of his first CardPlayer Poker Tour title. Willerson came out to play during Day 1A, but was unfortunately unable to gain any momentum. He was eliminated from play during the latter half of the day. Today, however, the bracelet winner has arrived once again and he is building a stack in the levels just before the dinner break. We found Willerson and another player looking down at a flop of 5J4 in a raised pot. Willerson’s opponent was first to act and he came out swinging for 3,000. Willerson would not be swayed, however, as he cut out a raise to 8,000 total. His opponent went into the tank for roughly a minute before releasing his cards and allowing Willerson to take down the pot. He now has roughly 41,500 in chips for more than double the starting stack. Player Tags: Jim Willerson More EliminationsAug 03, '14 The following players have been eliminated: 44.
