Last Year's Runner-Up Farber FallsAug 02, '14 Joe Alcala opened with a late positioned raise to 1,050. Allan Farber three-bet to an unknown amount from the blinds and it came back to Alcala who announced a four-bet ship. Farber instantly called for his tournament life and the hands were turned on their backs. Farber: AA Farber was in a dominating position with his pocket aces and retained the lead through the 65Q flop. The turn, however, spelled disaster for last year’s runner-up as it brough the J to the felt. Alcala suddenly held the lead with his set of jacks and ensured Farber’s elimination after the 8 finished off the community cards. Farber made a quick exit from the tournament area and Alcala increased his chip stack to about 27,000.
