Canin was surprised to see Bensalmon show Q9 and said “Oh,you’ve got nothing.”
But Canin’s assessment of his opponent’s hand was wrong as Bensalmon was drawing to an open-ended straight and a flush draw.
Bensalmon picked up a straight when the board completed 4K.

Atour Younan limped in from under the gun, a couple other players limped in as well, and several players saw a flop of QJ6. Brian Canin checked from the small blind, the player in the big blind checked, and Younan moved all in for his last 12,000 or so. Canin was the only player who called.
Canin held AJ for middle pair, while Younan showed KK for the overpair. He improved to quads with the K on the turn and K on the river to take the pot and double up.

The player in the hijack seat limped into the pot, Derrick Orez Mokedi completed from the small blind and Brian Canin checked from the big blind.
With three players in the hand the dealer fanned 1083 and action checked to the hijack, who bet 3,000. Mokedi raised to 8,000 and Canin folded. The hijack called and the two remaining players in the hand saw the 3 on the turn.
Mokedi had bet 10,000 in the dark, enough to put his opponent all-in, and the hijack responded by putting the rest of his chips in the middle. Mokedi rolled over A8 and was ahead of his opponent’s J8. The river was the 6 and Mokedi took the pot and sent his opponent to the rail.

Jeremy Armstrong Eliminated By Brian Canin

Elliot Turner limped in from under the gun, a middle position player called, then Jeremy Armstrong raised to 1,575 from the hijack, leaving 5,000 behind. The player in the cutoff called, as did the player on the button.
Brian Canin, who finished second in the $25,000 GTD prelim event earlier this series, moved all in for around 65,000 from the small blind and action folded back around to Armstrong, who called all in for his last 7,000 or so. The cutoff folded witout issue, but the player on the button, who had around 10,000 chips left let’s out an, “Oh my God,” before she leaned back in her chair to think. She eventually folded what she said was pocket nines.
Canin turned over AA, while Armstrong showed QQ. It was apparently the third hand in a row Armstrong had a big pocket pair only to run into a bigger pocket pair.
Armstrong received no help from the 932JA board and he hit the rail.
