James Carroll Doubles UpDec 21, '19 In a battle between the button and the small blind, James Carroll found himself all-in holding KK against the AJ of his opponent. The flop of A82 put him at risk, but he made the nut flush with the 5 on the turn. The inconsequential river card was the 6 and Carroll doubled up his 36,300 to about 74,000. Player Tags: James Carroll Jerry Robinson Gives Up On The RiverDec 21, '19 On a flop of J62, James Carroll checked and Jerry Robinson bet 2,200. Carroll called, and the turn was the K. Carroll checked again and this time, Robinson bet 4,300. Carroll called again, and then checked for a final time as the 9 hit the river. Robinson quickly checked behind, and Carroll turned over QJ for second pair to win the pot. He is now back up to 28,000, while Robinson falls belong the starting stack with 36,000. Mike Del Vecchio Doubles Through James CarrollDec 15, '18 Mike Del Vecchio and James Carroll found themselves in a preflop raising war that resulted in two all-ins. Carroll held pocket queens, but he was in bad shape against Del Vecchio’s pocket kings. The dealer put out a board of 65248, and the stacks were counted down. Del Vecchio was all in for 99,000, meaning he doubled to just over 200,000. Carroll was left with just 16,000, or eight big blinds. Player Tags: James Carroll, Mike Del Vecchio |

Ray Qartomy Knocks Out James CarrollMar 18, '13 James Carroll, the tournament’s one-time chip leader, has been eliminated. Ray Qartomy, winner of a CPPT Wynn Classic preliminary event, was nice enough to give us the details on the break. In a four-way limped pot, everyone checked on a flop of 4-4-3. Qartomy then bet 2,600 when an Ace hit the turn. One opponent called, as did James Carroll. The river was a King and Qartomy bet once again. He was called and then Carroll moved all in for the last of his stack, approximately 14,500. Qartomy moved all in behind him and was called by the other player in the hand as well, who held A-K. Carroll held 2-5 for a turned straight, but Qartomy’s A-4 made a full house, giving him a new stack of 84,500. Player Tags: James Carroll, Ray Qartomy Martov Gets Fold From SchulmanMar 18, '13 Nick Schulman raises to 1,200 on the button, James Carroll calls from the big blind and Gheorgui Martov calls from under the gun +1. The flop is AJ5 and Carroll and Martov check. With action on Schulman, he makes it 1,900 to go. Carroll gets out of the way and Martov calls. The 5falls on the turn and both players check. The river is the A, Martov bets 3,000 and Schulman tosses his hand away. Gheorgui Martov – 35,000 Player Tags: James Carroll, Nick Schulman James Carroll Wins Massive Pot To Take The Chip LeadMar 18, '13 We walked up to the table on a flop of 10 9 8. Larry Wright led out for 1,400 and was called by the player in the 2 seat. James Carroll then called before the player in the 5 seat raised. The 6 seat called and Wright folded. The 2 seat then pot committed himself by raising to 12,200 and Carroll moved all in for approximately 26,000. The 5 seat decided to move all in over the top and the 6 seat folded what he later claimed was two pair after a few minutes in the tank. The 2 seat called off the remainder of his chips and the cards were turned over. Carroll held QJ for the nut straight with a flush draw, but his hand was vulnerable against the 2 seat’s A 5. The 5 seat flopped a straight with 7 6, but was drawing dead to a chop. The turn and river came 5 J and Carroll won the pot, giving him 86,000 in chips. Player Tags: James Carroll Pot For James CarrollMar 18, '13 Nick Schulman raises to 1,200 from the cutoff and James Carroll calls from the big blind. Gheorgui Martov follows from middle position and the three see a flop of 943. All three check to the turn of 7 and Carroll bets 2,500. Martov and Schulman fold and Carroll is now seated with about 28,500. Player Tags: James Carroll, Nick Schulman |
