This well-respected poker player has been cashing in major tournaments since 1999, and he is one of the most feared cash-game players in the world. In 2007, Kenny Tran made big cashes in the two most prestigious World Series of Poker events. He placed fifth in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event, which contained one of the toughest fields ever assembled. Then, in the $10,000 main event, Tran outlasted more than 6,000 players and finished 16th. Those two cashes combined for just over $825,000.
Then, at the 2008 WSOP, Tran won his first bracelet in the $10,000 buy-in heads-up no-limit hold'em World Championship event. He added almost $540,000 to his winnings.
