Battle of the Big Stacks

Four players saw a flop of Q96 for 500 each. After the big blind checked, the original raiser bet 850. Vince Salvatore, who was in the hijack, raised to 3,000, and Bob Samuels didn’t waste much time before he raised to 6,000 on the button.
The big blind and original raiser folded, and Salvatore made the call. The turn was the J and both players checked. The river was the A and again, both players checked.
Samuels turned over KQ for a second pair, and Salvatore couldn’t beat it, throwing his hand into the muck. While Salvatore is still strong with 85,000, its Samuels who now has the chip lead with 95,000.

Two Early Bustouts At One Table

So far today we’ve lost two players, and they’ve both bent sent home from the same table.
The first casualty came when Vince Salvatore, who told us he “is probably the worst player here,” made a flush to crack his opponent’s pocket aces. Salvatore turned a straight and flush draw with 4-2 suited, and managed to river a flush to score the knockout. He now leads the field with 75,000.
The second bustout happened just a few hands later, when Bob Samuels called off a player’s all-in holding A-Q on a queen-high flop. Samuels wasn’t ahead against his opponent’s pocket kings. He got there in the end, however, when another queen hit the river to send his opponent to the rail and give him a new stack of 50,000.
