Born in Lebanon, Yehia "Joe" Awada left the war-torn country at age 13. Barely speaking English, Awada got a job juggling with Ringling Brothers Circus. Due to a car accident, Awada's circus career died and he took up dealing cards at ironically enough, Circus Circus. Now the CEO of Gaming Entertainment, Awada currently develops casino games.
Awada won a World Series of Poker bracelet in the seven-card stud event in 2004 and won events at the Plaza Ultimate Poker and Festa la Lago III that year, as well. He has nearly $1 million in tournament winnings. Father of six, Awada can often be found sporting "good luck" pictures of his family while at the table.
