Big Hands:
Old School Vs. New School
Bruno Fitoussi and Chad "lilholdem954" Batista got heads up after Fitoussi called Batista's 825 raise from big blind. The flop brought 1087 and Batista threw about 3,000 into the pot, enough to put Fitoussi all in. Fitoussi mucked and was left with an even shorter stack of just 1,500, while Batista's stack has ground to over 20,000.
"How Good Am I Running?"
Kathy Liebert raised a pot and had one opponent come over the top of her all in. Liebert, who has a large stack, made the call and tabled 22. Her opponent showed AQ. The flop hit her opponent, coming A84 to give him aces. But the turn left him drawing dead, as the 2 hit the felt to give Liebert a set. The meaningless 3 fell on the river and Liebert sent yet another opponent home. She turned around after the win and asked, "How good am I running?"
Very good, Kathy Liebert. Very good, indeed.
A "Hollywood" Hissy Fit
"Hollywood" Dave Stann raised all in for 7,675, forcing Hevad Khan to muck. The small blind, who had around 6,000 in chips, shrugged and made the call. He showed 44 and Stann started steaming after flipping over his AQ. "Really guy? You risk your whole tournament with 4s?" After Stann's several explicits that won't be included in this post, the board came out 10838K and the 4s held.
Stann continued to berate his opponent long after the hand, telling him how his call was the "biggest idiot call" ever. His opponent stacked his new chips quitely, occasionally shrugging at Stann's whining. Stann later busted.
Dragon Tamed?
On a board of A325, David Pham bet out 1,200 and was called by the player in seat 4. The river was the J. Pham counted out chips and thought about his move, then apparently got gunshy and just mucked his hand.

$2,000 Omaha High-Low - Level 12 recap
Jun 09, '08
Blinds: 600-1,200
Players left: 76 of 553
Average chip stack: 29,100
Chip leaders:
Scott Clements - 75,000
David Williams - 73,000
James Richburg - 72,000
Soheil Shamseddin - 70,000

Big Hands:
Fricke quartered thanks to straight flush
Mallory Smith raised preflop and Jimmy Fricke called from late position. The flop came 625 and Smith bet 1,200 and Fricke called. Fricke called bets by Smith when the 9 and 8 came on the turn and river. Smith quickly turned over the 43 for the straight flush and six low, while Fricke showed 43 for the same six low but no flush. After the hand Fricke had about 65,000 chips and was still among the chip leaders.
Busy level for Van Alstyne
In just a 10-minute span James Van Alstyne was involved in three pots. First, with the board showing 975QQ, Van Alstyne won a pot holding AK93 for just two pair, queens and nines. When Van Alstyne flipped over his hand his opponent angrily stared at his cards for a few seconds before slamming them to the felt. Then he won the hand preflop with an under the gun raise. Two hands later, from the small blind, he played a hand very aggresively against Donald Condit, who was shortstacked. But the board didn't cooperate, and with the board showing A6759, Condit held 3248 for an eight-high straight and five low to scoop the pot.
Stann and Pescatori chop it up
With the board showing 2QA66, Max Pescatori bet 2,400 and Dave Stann quickly called. Pescatori showed AQ76 for a full house, while Stann held KJ53 for a six low and half the pot. At the end of the level Pescatori had about 10,000 chips, while Stann was at around 30,000 chips.
Arieh takes down pot on flop
After limping in preflop, Josh Arieh takes down a pot on a QT3 flop when both others fold to his bet. After the pot Arieh has about 40,000 chips.

"Hollywood" Dave Stann Goes Down, But Not Quietly
"I'm rooting for your demise," Hollywood Dave Stann playfully told Peter Dawson. But on the very next hand a raise-fest led to Stann getting his money all in with AAJ2 against a different opponent's AK32. The board came 632KK and it was Stann who met his demise and was eliminated.
On his way out Stann told Dawson, "Keep thinking you're a genius. You're the only one who does." To which Dawson said, 'Karma is a funny thing."
Andreas Krause's Tournament Comes to an End
Battling a short stack for a while, Andreas Krause got all in with 7622 against his opponent's AQQ3. When his hand didn't improve, Krause was eliminated from the tournament.
Hanging By a Thread
On a board of 44328 Jimmy Fricke raised enough to put a player all in. The player called and showed A762 for the high and Fricke showed AK65 for the low, splitting the pot.
Mizrachi Adds To His Stack
With Q98 showing on the board, Robert Mizrachi bet out and received no callers. Mizrachi has around 30,000 in chips.

Zolotow Takes Two
Jun 18, '07
Steve Zolotow has been quietly accumulating chips for the last two levels in particular. In one fantastic hand Zolotow finished off "Hollywood" Dave Stann and "Captain Tom" Franklin in one fell swoop. Franklin was all in on a flop of 10 7 3 , Zolotow called and Stann reluctantly called. The turn card was the 9 , Stann moved all in , and Zolotow called. Zolotow held 7 7 against Stann's A 10 . The river card was meaningless, and Zolotow pulled in a huge pot.
Not fairing quite as well, Greg Raymer was eliminated after his J-9 failed to improve.
Jon Friedburg, Nam Le, and Erick Lindgren each had a strong level and have above average chip stacks.
