Originally from Vancouver, Washington, Brandon Cantu now resides in Las Vegas. Cantu made a name for himself by winning the $1,500 no-limit hold'em event at the 2006 World Series of Poker, beating a field of 2,776 players. With a bracelet under his belt, Cantu went on to win an Ultimate Poker Challenge event, as well as finish second in a preliminary event at the Bellagio Five-Diamond World Poker Classic for over $130,000.
Then, at the 2008 Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship, Cantu took down the World Poker Tour title and the $1 million first-place prize.
