Winning two bracelets in one year at the World Series of Poker would be a near impossible task for any poker professional, with the record-breaking fields of recent years. But, 21-year-old college student Jeff Madsen, from Los Angeles, California, completed this task at the 2006 WSOP. His incredible run launched him into poker fame when he won the $2,000 no-limit hold'em and $5,000 shorthanded events, becoming what was then the youngest player ever to win a WSOP bracelet. He also made two other final tables in Omaha eight-or-better and seven-card stud eight-or-better, showing his range in poker talent. He already has accumulated over $3 million in tournament winnings, which is significantly more than the $9,500 he convinced his parents to loan him for his buy-ins.
Madsen had a great run in the 2009 L.A. Poker Classic winning a preliminary event and then final tabling the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. championship. Then in early 2010, Madsen took down the Borgata Winter Open main event for $625,006.
