Big Hands:
Phil Ivey Climbing Back
Claudio Baptista moved all in before the flop and Phil Ivey made the call. Baptista tabled 99 but Ivey showed down KK.
The flop came down AA5, giving Baptista no help. The turn was the A, giving both players a full house with Ivey’s being superior. The river was the 8 and Baptista was eliminated. After dropping as low as 220,000 in chips, Ivey has found a way to climb back to 830,000.
Reed Hensel Knocks Out Mark Fisher
After a raise of 32,000 preflop, the action was on Reed Hensel in the cutoff. He reraised to 110,000. Mark Fisher moved in for 535,000 from the big blind. The original raiser folded but Hensel made the call.
Fisher tabled QQ while Hensel tabled AA. The board ran out 642J10 and Hensel knocked Fisher out.
Tom Lutz Gets Involved In Another Monster Pot, Gets Busted
Tom Lutz got involved in the biggest pot of the tournament during the last level, totaling 2.5 million. He just broke that record on his bustout hand.
After a flop of 963, Tom Lutz and Warren Zackey got in a raising war that ended up with Lutz being all in for 1.85 million. Zackey had Lutz covered and tabled 1010. Lutz was drawing with two overcards, AQ.
The turn was the 8 and the river was the 5, missing Lutz and giving the massive 3.7 million pot to Zackey. Lutz was out and Zackey was at 4.15 million.
Estelle Denis Moves In On J.C. Tran, Gets Her Cards Mucked By Dealer
J.C. Tran raised from middle position and the action was on Estelle Denis. She moved all in and the action was back on Tran. However, as everyone mucked their hands, the dealer grabbed Denis’ hand and put it in the muck. The floor was called over and it was ruled that a player is responsible for protecting their hand. There was mercy shown, however, as the staff only required her to call Tran’s raise instead of surrendering her entire stack. After that mess, she was down to 110,000.
Stokes Slips, Loses Chips to Patchell
Joey Lawrence made it 30,000 and was called by Joel Patchell. When the action got to Jamin Stokoes, put in another raise to 100,000. Lawrence found the fold button, but Patchell called. The flop was KJ9 and Patchell shoved all in for 310,000, which was called by Stokes.
Stokes showed AJ and Patchell showed KQ. The turn and river failed to improve Stokes and he dropped to 350,000.
Zackey Continuing Hot Run of Cards
With 300,000 already found in the pot on a flop of QQ3, Warren Zackey bet 175,00 and Kyle Wilson, also known as “Krisqueen” online, moved all in for his remaining 775,000 and Zackey made the call.
Wilson showed JJ and was behind the Q10 that Zackey held. The turn was the 7 and the river was the K, giving Zackey the pot and increasing his stack to 4,700,000.
J.C. Tran Closing In On A Million After Double Up
We caught up with the hand as the chips were being shipped J.C. Tran’s way. Tran moved all in for about 400,000 and was called by Nasr El Nasr. Tran held A10 on a board that read 106236.
The top pair was apparently good as Nasr’s hand was already in the muck. With the double up, Tran was around 800,000.
Nick Schulman Busts
Marc Etienne McLaughlin raised to 28,000 from the cutoff and Nick Schulman repopped to 96,000 from the button. McLaughlin put Schulman all in and the call was made. McLaughlin showed AK while Schulman showed AQ.
The board ran out 842K10 and Schulman was eliminated.
Esfandiari Scores A Knockout
Adam Sanders moved all in preflop and Antonio Esfandiari made a quick call. Sanders tabled 1010, but Esfandiari reached into his hat and pulled out AA.
The flop came down KK4 and Sanders got no help. The turn was the 8 and the river was the 3 and Esfandiari knocked out his opponent. He was at 1.2 million in chips.
