Big Hands:
Kassela Cracks Aces, Eliminates Anthony
Following Frank Kassela’s raise to 37,000 Richard Anthony shoved all in for 300,000. Kassela made the call and saw that he was crushed. Their hands:
Kassela: A10
Anthony: AA
The flop ran K105, giving Kassela a flush draw, but he wouldn’t need it. The 10 hit on the turn, giving him trips to best Anthony’s aces. The J hit on the river and Anthony was eliminated just shy of the bubble.
Kassela raked in the pot and had around 1.1 million.
Juanda is the Bubble Boy
In one hand John Juanda both bubbled payouts and lost the lead in the Player of the Year race to Frank Kassela.
On that hand, an already criplled Juanda put himself all in for 40,000 when calling Brian Hodhod’s 52,000 raise along with Martins Adeniya.
The flop came AK10 and Adeniya and Hodhod checked. They again checked the 7 turn, but when Adeniya checked the 3 river Hodhod bet 44,000. Adeniya folded and Juanda saw that he was beat. Their hands:
Hodhod: AJ
Juanda: KJ
Juanda was eliminated one spot short of the money and in the process Frank Kassela took over in the Player of the Year race.
With that, all remaining players were guaranteed a payday of at least $58,699.
