Originally from Iran, Farzad Rouhani moved to the U.S. in 1985 to attend college. However, instead of becoming a doctor, he became a professional poker player. His first six-digit tournament cash game at the 2006 World Series of Poker when he got second place in the $2,000 no-limit hold'em event for almost $430,000.
Rouhani just barely missed out on winning his first bracelet, but at the 2008 WSOP, he wouldn't let the chance slip by again. Rouhani won the $2,500 buy-in Omaha/seven-card stud eight-or-better event. Rouhani resides in the Suburban Washington, D.C., area but travels to Atlantic City on occasion to play.
