Adam Katz Wins Preflop Against Victor Ramdin
Jan 06, '09
Victor Ramdin raised to 3,100 preflop and Adam Katz reraised to 10,200 from the blinds. Ramdin reraised to 23,000 and Katz thought for a bit before moving all in for 45,7000.
Ramdin shook his head in disbelief before counting out his own stack. He had 47,000 in front of him and would be playing for virtually his whole stack.
After a few minutes, a crowd began to form to see what Ramdin would decide. After four minutes had past, he asked Katz what he wanted him to do. Katz remained silent, but Ramdin revealed that he was suited and may be forced to call.
Eventually, Ramdin folded his hand and Katz took in the pot deflating a tense situation around the table.

Rasmussen called and the river doubled paired the board with another queen. Rasmussen checked called another bet and took down the pot when his opponent mucked. He now has just over 60,000 in chips
Adam Katz Makes A-10 Work
Twice during the level Adam "akat11" Katz was able to make A-10 pay off in a big way. On the first hand Katz made top two pair and was paid off. He stacked even more chips when his A-10 suited made the nut flush in another hand soon after. He now has 77,000 in chips.
Barry Greenstein Busts Mike Sowers
We asked Barry Greenstein where he got all of his chips and were informed that he took them off of young online pro Mike Sowers. Sowers had raised Greenstein a few times before and on the hand in question Greenstein picked up aces and raised on the button. Sowers played back at him with pocket kings from the small blind and was unable to catch up. Greenstein now has 86,000 in chips.
Raise and Take it in the Poker Room
Action in the poker room has been dictated by the first player to act in almost every single pot as of late. One showdown occured during our time on the floor and a player with pocket nines took down a pot that was checked around for the most part. Other than that, to the raiser go the spoils, most notably Paul Wasicka and Jason Mercier, who have been very active at their table.

Left In The Deck:
Table 54 has been filled with some early afternoon drama as it appears that seat 6 has developed a case of the stalls. After facing a modest bet from Gabe Kaplan, Abe Mosseri calls the clock on the young kid across the table, who has already shown off his habit of deep contemplation each and every hand.
Jonathan Aguiar spoke up as well, saying, "I got here 20 minutes late and I only missed 3 hands."

Harry Kazazian Doubles Though Adam Katz
Dec 07, '08
Harry Kazazian was all in against Adam Katz holding A-10. Katz showed A-Q and was a big favorite to not only knock out Kazazian, but take the chip lead.
Instead, a ten hits the flop and Katz has to ship almost 200,000 across the table.
The chip counts tab has been updated to reflect this hand.

Big Hands:
"And the roller coaster continues," Katz Eliminates Chan in 27th Place ($20,241)
Adam Katz, AKA Akat11, was sitting in the big blind when the short-stacked Feming Chan him pushed all in from the small blind. Katz looked down and saw 99 and made the call. The small blind turned over AK and Katz was shocked saying, "Wow, is this for real?" He said he didn't expect both short stacks at the table to both be in the blinds with actual hands.
The board ran 8747J, giving Katz the pot. After the chips were counted, it was learned that Katz had his opponent outchipped, so the player was eliminated. While stacking his new chips Katz said, "And the roller coaster continues."
The roller coaster ended before the round could, as Katz was later eliminated.
Broadway Sends Markovits Packing
A short-stacked Adam Markovits moved all in and was called by Sunny Chattha. Markovits' A4 was behind Chattha's AJ until the flop brought K4K to pair Markovits' 4. The turn card made things interesting, bringing the Q to give Chattha more outs. The river was the 10, completing Chattha's runner-runner straight to eliminate Markovits.
Sundbo Climbs, Eliminates McCabe
Sean McCabe's all in preflop raise was called by Sverre Sundbo, who held 99. McCabe had two overs, AJ. The board ran 107673 and McCabe was eliminated, while Sundbo moved up to around 700,000.
Lou Esposito Busts in 28th Place ($16,024)
Lou Esposito moved all in with pocket 10s and was called by Ryan D'Angelo, who held K-9. The flop brought a king and Esposito was eliminated from the tournament in twenty-eigth place.

$2500 NLHE - Day 2 - End of Day
Jun 08, '08
Players Remaining: 9
Chip Counts:
Duncan Bell: 1,100,000
Jason Sanders: 920,000
Shawn Buchanan: 775,000
Brent Hanks: 625,000
Ariel Soffer: 350,000
Nicolas Levi: 320,000
Brent Ditzik: 250,000
Nathan Doudney: 175,000
Nathan Doudney Cripped then Quadrupled
The two short stacks, Nathan Doudney and Brent Ditzin, get all of the chips in before the flop. Doudney showed A5, and was in rough shape against 55. But Doudney hit his ace on the flop of AK10 and was looking good, at least until the turn, which brought the 8 and a reverse-suckout flush for Ditzin. The river was a meaningless J, and Ditzin took down the pot, leaving Doudney with only 29,000.
A few hands later, the Short stacked Nathan Doudney moved all in and received three callers. His opponents checked down every street of a board reading 109838, but none of them were able to beat Doudney's J-10. The short stack quadrupled up, and play dragged on.
Katz Bursts Bubble
Adam Katz raised an additional 38,000 preflop, and was called by Duncan Bell from the big blind. The flop came A3Q, and Bell led out for 110,000. Katz made the call. The turn brought the K. Bell led out again, this time for 375,000. Katz moved all in, and Bell quickly called, showing A3. Katz unhappily turned over KQ, and received no help when the J fell on the river. Katz was eliminated in 10th place, and his masseuse, who had been dutifully massaging him for well over 6 hours, finally got to go home.

"Red Beard Sheets"
Apr 09, '08
The chants of "sheets" or "red beard sheets" have been steady from the rail throughout the final table. This crew's fascination with Eric "sheets" Haber has been odd and at times startling to the people around them.
Katz toyed with the idea of wearining an eye patch to the final table, but he has continued his pirate ways by uttering "Arghhh" at random intervals.

47 Players Left
Jun 07, '07
Only 47 players now remain in Day 2 of Event 10, all of which are guaranteed to pocket at least $10,170. While some players are chipping up, others are chipping out, and Level 14 has brought us some more notable eliminations.
Clonie Gowen was eliminated in 64th place, banking $6,966 for her efforts and Brandi Hawbaker went bust in 55th place cashing for $8,359. Both of them were eliminated in the last spots right before the next pay jumps.
Card Player Pro Blogger Adam Katz was eliminated in 51st place ($10,170) when he was forced to move all-in from the big blind after being crippled in the previous hand. A $120,000 pot and Katz is holding pocket eights against his opponent’s A-K when his opponent sucks-out a win and leaves Katz with only $19,000 in chips. The very next hand Adam Katz has one third of his remaining chips in the big blind when the small blind puts him all-in. Katz makes the call without even looking at his cards and flips over 10-9, seeing it himself for the first time. The small blind flips over A-3 and the flop brings one 3, the turn brings another 3, and as if that weren’t enough, the river brings an ace giving his opponent a full house and sending Katz to the bust-out table.
The players have taken a dinner break at 7:30 p.m. and play will resume promptly at 9 p.m.
