Christopher Stephan Eliminated In 8th Place ($16,699)
Mar 15, '16
Action was still on Ludovic Geilich when Christopher Stephan, who didn’t see Geilich’s cards, announced that he was all in.
The tournament staff stepped in and let Geilich know his options in the situation. He decided to call, which made Stephan’s all-in binding. It folded around to Ed O’Connell, who after some thought made the call with the 1010. He turned up his cards after Geilich folded and found himself in a race situation against Stephan, who held the AJ.
The board ran out 97357 and Stephan was sent to the rail in eighth place, earning $16,699.
O’Connell surged into the chip lead after the hand with more than 3.6 million.
