Big Hands:
Bryn Kenney Climbs The Leader Board
Bryn Kenney raised to 2,600 in the small blind and Matt Vengrin called from the big blind. The flop came down 973 and both players checked.
The turn was the A and Kenney fired a bet of 4,400. Vengrin raised to 12,000 and Kenney took some time before repopping it to 27,000.
Vengrin immediately folded and Kenney scooped yet another pot. The young pro is now up to 116,000 in chips.
Maridu Hits the Rail
Team PokerStars Pro Brazilian Maria “Maridu” Mayrinck was all in holding AQ against the pocket kings of Jason Lilly.
The board never gave her any help and Mayrinck was eliminated from the tournament.
Victor Ramdin Has Great Level
Victor Ramdin was circling the drain during the last level with only 7,000 in chips, but a case of back to back big pocket pairs has him much better shape with 60,000.
On the first hand, his pocket kings made a set. On the next hand, his pocket aces made the nut flush.
Akkari Loses A Race
Andre Akkari picked up pocket queens and made his final move for his last 13,000. His opponent looked him up with big slick and connected with the flop, sending the Brazilian to the rail.

Hand of the Level:
Maridu Gets Set Over Set
Team PokerStars Pro Maria “maridu” Mayrinck went heads-up to a flop of 532. Her opponent checked from the small blind and then check-raised her bet of 1,200 to 4,000.
Mayrinck called and the Q hit the turn. Her opponent continued with a bet of 6,000 and she called.
The river was the J and once again the Brazilian Mayrinck called a bet, this time for 12,000.
She was concerned he had flopped the wheel, but was relieved to see that he had just flopped a set of fives with 55. Mayrinck showed QQ for top set and took the pot, skyrocketing her stack to 54,000.

What Else Is Going On?
The main event is going strong, but the PokerStars EPT London Poker Festival is so much more than that.
There are currently four tournaments going on at the moment. The six-handed pot-limit Omaha tournament is currently at the final table, while the 8-game tournament goes on in the corner with just three tables remaining.
In addition, you also have the final table of the High-Roller Championship. You can watch that action live or follow the updates.

While we’re waiting for the blinds to drive the action up, check out this video from the good folks at PokerStars.

Players Left: 54 of 1344
Average Stack: 99,556

Big Hands:
Huang Catching Fire
Yue Huang surged up the leaderboard with a pair of consecutive wins that helped him top the 200,000 mark in chips, after beginning the day with just over 23,000. Early in level 14, Ernest Bennett raised from the button for his final 23,700 in chips and Huang made the call. Bennett held A10 while Huang showed 99. The flop came K32, followed by the 8 on the turn and J on the river to make Huang the winner.
Shortly afterwarad, Huang cashed in again. After a flop of 842, the turn brought the 2. Huang bet 20,000 and drew a call. The river was the Q. Huang moved all-in for 69,000 and received another call. Huang flipped over A10 for the flopped flush and scooped the pot.
Braband Bounced
In a battle of the blinds, Tom Braband raised and Dylan Bircheff reraised all-in. Braband made the call for 50,000 and showed ace-king offsuit. Bircheff held the 99. The flop brought the 752, but the 9 on the turn ended the suspense.
Rajkumar Crippled, Then Done
Vivek Rajkumar had moved among the chip leaders, but lost more than half his stack with 20 minutes left in the level. The chips were all-in preflop against Maria Mayrinck, who had 56,400. She showed pocket kings to Rajkumar's ace-king. The door card of the flop was the A, but behind it was the K to give Mayrinck the set. The 874 completed the board and Mayrinck doubled up.
Rajkumar was eliminated a few hands later.
Smith Takes a Hit
The player under the gun raised to 11,000 and Paul Smith made it 30,000 to play. The small blind called all-in for 14,000, while the player under the gun reraised all-in for another 45,000. Smith called and showed QQ, but he was up against the AA of the initial raiser. The board ran out 98644 and Smith fell to below 100,000 in chips.

Eliminations:
Bill Gazes
Maria Mayrinck
Big Hands and Storylines:
Phil Hellmuth: Dealer Instructor
While most of the players remaining are interested in accumulating a big stack and winning hundreds of thousands of dollars, Phil Hellmuth has a much bigger concern: dealer technique. As the dealer shuffled the deck between hands, Hellmuth remarked that he was not following proper World Series of Poker dealing protocol, “It should be shuffle, shuffle, shuffle, cut.” Not content with simply telling the dealer how to do his job, Hellmuth proceeded to grab the deck and show him the proper technique. Unconvinced that the dealer was imbibing the Poker Brat’s wisdom, he suggested, “Let’s call the floor.” Mercifully, as Hellmuth sought out a floorman, John Juanda implored, “Just let him deal!” which settled Hellmuth down (as much as is possible) and allowed play to resume at the table.
Olson Busts Gazes
Bill Gazes got all-in before the flop against Carl “colson10” Olson. The two turned over their hands:
Gazes: AK
Olson: AQ
The flop was A97, keeping Olson on track for an appearance on day 2, but the Q on the turn crushed his hopes, and the 9 on the river was the nail in the coffin. Gazes lamented the fact that he has now played three straight tournaments late into day 1, only to be eliminated before the day’s conclusion. Carl Olson now has 70,000 chips.
Maridu Doubles Up, Crashes Out
With only 8,000 chips remaining, Maria Mayrinck moved all-in from under-the-gun. The UTG+1 player moved all-in behind her for nearly 50,000 and action folded around to Marco “CrazyMarco” Johnson, who, after a bit of thought, folded A-Q face up. Mayrinck tabled A-8, noting that she had only looked at one of her cards, and her opponent showed J-J. The flop came A-8-7 and gave Mayrinck the lead. A queen on the turn mocked Johnson, but did nothing to diminish Mayrinck’s lead. The river was a blank and doubled Maridu up to 17,000. Her joy would not last long, however, as she would be eliminated by Johnson only one orbit later.
