Notable Eliminations:
Barry Greenstein
Big Hands:
Greenstein Crippled, Eliminated
Barry Greenstein was up and down throughout the day. After getting as high as third on the leaderboard he eventually fell among the low stacks, courtesy of Frank Kassela.
In that hand, Kassela raised to 25,000 and Greenstein reraised to 60,000. Kassela called and the flop ran Q105.
Greenstein fired out 85,000 and Kassela moved all in for 498,000. Greenstein called and saw that he was in the lead. Their hands:
Kassela: A8
Greenstein: AA
Kassela needed a heart or he would be eliminated. The Q on the turn didn’t help him but the 6 river card gave him the flush, boosting his stack to 1,145,000 and crippling Greenstein.
Shortly after, Greenstein found himself all in preflop against Alexander Gruibem. Their hands:
Greenstein: AQ
Gruibem: J6
Greenstein held the lead but the flop hit Gruibem’s hand, running 863 and Greenstein found no help from the 8 turn and 5 river. Greenstein busted and Gruibem’s stack grew to around 365,000.
Negreanu Rivers Bentham
Daniel Negreanu called Thomas Bentham’s all in bet of 190,000 preflop and the two showed down:
Negreanu: AJ
Bentham: AQ
Negreanu was in kicker-trouble after the flop of 3A6 and the 5 turn, but the J landed on the river to give Negreanu two pair and Bentham was eliminated.
Negreanu had around 1.3 million in chips following the hand.
