Goldberg Shows Heart -- Sort Of
Jeff Goldberg faced his tournament life after a 1043 flop that pitted him against the small blind. Goldberg was faced with an all-in bet that would cost him his remaining 15,700 in chips, while another 20,000 was available in the pot. Goldberg finally announced "call" and was quickly asked by his opponent "do you have a heart?" Goldberg shook his head as he turned over JJ. The small blind then revealed that he was the one who needed a heart, holding J3. The 9 on the turn and 4 on the river kept Goldberg in the tourney while crippling his opponent.
Lisanti Busts A Pair of Pairs
Mike Lisanti scooped a monster pot when an initial raise to 3,500 was raised to 12,000 before Lisanti came over the top to go all-in for 32,800. Lisanti showed AK, and faced two all-ins, one with pocket sixes and another with pocket queens. The board ran out AJJ7A to allow Lisanti to scoop a 68,000 pot.
Littlefield Joins the Fun
Along with Lisanti at Table 2, Jeff Littlefield got into the act on the very next hand by raking in a 53,000 pot. Littlefield had his pocket 9s hold up on a board of K7643. The loser of that pot then suffered a tough elimination when his KK fell to an AJ when the board came Q10938 for a straight.
