Marco Johnson raised to 65,000 from under the gun and action folded around to John Apikian in the big blind, who called. After a flop of K52 Apikian check-called Johnson’s bet of 70,000. The turn was the 10 and Apikian fired out a massive bet of 165,000. Johnson released his hand and the pot went to Apikian.

Weber Takes One

In a raised pot, Josh Hale, Matt Weber and John Apikian were faced with a 4J6 flop.
Weber checked from the small blind and Apikian did the same from the big blind. Hale bet 50,000 and both blinds called.
A 9 came on the turn and Hale bet 140,000 when checked to. Weber called, Apikian folded and a 4 completed the board.
Both players checked and Weber took down the pot with AJ.
Weber is now up to about 1.7 million.

Akipian Straight Up Doubles

Douglas Suyemoto bet 30,000 on a 754 flop and John Apikian moved all-in for 410,000.
Suyemoto called and showed QQ for an overpair while Apikian had K6 for a straight draw.
The 8 came on the turn and Apikian hit his straight and celebrated.
Suyemoto dropped to 870,000 while Akipian doubled to about 920,000.

Shan Jing raised to 135,000 from early position and was three-bet by Amit Makhija to 300,000. Action folded to John Apikian on the button, who moved all in. Action folded back to Jing who went into the tank for several minutes before pushing his hand into the muck.
Makhija quickly called and showed KK and is in the lead against Apikian’s AJ. The dealer fanned a board of Q849J and Apikian was eliminated in 8th place. He takes home over $15,000 for his final table appearance. Makhija climbs to 3.7 million in chips as the table shortens to seven handed play.
