Warren Zackey – 5,000,000 Card Player Chip Counts: Jeff Shulman – 575,000 Average Chip Count: 1,053,081 Notable Eliminations: Tom Lutz Big Hands: Phil Ivey Climbing Back Claudio Baptista moved all in before the flop and Phil Ivey made the call. Baptista tabled 99 but Ivey showed down KK. The flop came down AA5, giving Baptista no help. The turn was the A, giving both players a full house with Ivey’s being superior. The river was the 8 and Baptista was eliminated. After dropping as low as 220,000 in chips, Ivey has found a way to climb back to 830,000. Reed Hensel Knocks Out Mark Fisher After a raise of 32,000 preflop, the action was on Reed Hensel in the cutoff. He reraised to 110,000. Mark Fisher moved in for 535,000 from the big blind. The original raiser folded but Hensel made the call. Fisher tabled QQ while Hensel tabled AA. The board ran out 642J10 and Hensel knocked Fisher out. Tom Lutz Gets Involved In Another Monster Pot, Gets Busted Tom Lutz got involved in the biggest pot of the tournament during the last level, totaling 2.5 million. He just broke that record on his bustout hand. After a flop of 963, Tom Lutz and Warren Zackey got in a raising war that ended up with Lutz being all in for 1.85 million. Zackey had Lutz covered and tabled 1010. Lutz was drawing with two overcards, AQ. The turn was the 8 and the river was the 5, missing Lutz and giving the massive 3.7 million pot to Zackey. Lutz was out and Zackey was at 4.15 million. Estelle Denis Moves In On J.C. Tran, Gets Her Cards Mucked By Dealer J.C. Tran raised from middle position and the action was on Estelle Denis. She moved all in and the action was back on Tran. However, as everyone mucked their hands, the dealer grabbed Denis’ hand and put it in the muck. The floor was called over and it was ruled that a player is responsible for protecting their hand. There was mercy shown, however, as the staff only required her to call Tran’s raise instead of surrendering her entire stack. After that mess, she was down to 110,000. Stokes Slips, Loses Chips to Patchell Joey Lawrence made it 30,000 and was called by Joel Patchell. When the action got to Jamin Stokoes, put in another raise to 100,000. Lawrence found the fold button, but Patchell called. The flop was KJ9 and Patchell shoved all in for 310,000, which was called by Stokes. Stokes showed AJ and Patchell showed KQ. The turn and river failed to improve Stokes and he dropped to 350,000. Zackey Continuing Hot Run of Cards With 300,000 already found in the pot on a flop of QQ3, Warren Zackey bet 175,00 and Kyle Wilson, also known as “Krisqueen” online, moved all in for his remaining 775,000 and Zackey made the call. Wilson showed JJ and was behind the Q10 that Zackey held. The turn was the 7 and the river was the K, giving Zackey the pot and increasing his stack to 4,700,000. J.C. Tran Closing In On A Million After Double Up We caught up with the hand as the chips were being shipped J.C. Tran’s way. Tran moved all in for about 400,000 and was called by Nasr El Nasr. Tran held A10 on a board that read 106236. The top pair was apparently good as Nasr’s hand was already in the muck. With the double up, Tran was around 800,000. Nick Schulman Busts Marc Etienne McLaughlin raised to 28,000 from the cutoff and Nick Schulman repopped to 96,000 from the button. McLaughlin put Schulman all in and the call was made. McLaughlin showed AK while Schulman showed AQ. The board ran out 842K10 and Schulman was eliminated. Esfandiari Scores A Knockout Adam Sanders moved all in preflop and Antonio Esfandiari made a quick call. Sanders tabled 1010, but Esfandiari reached into his hat and pulled out AA. The flop came down KK4 and Sanders got no help. The turn was the 8 and the river was the 3 and Esfandiari knocked out his opponent. He was at 1.2 million in chips. Player Tags: J.C. Scott tabled KJ while Zsolt showed KQ. The flop came down 1064 and Scott held a flush draw. The turn was money for her as the 10 fell and the A fell on the river for good measure. She doubled up to 270,000. Moments later, Bob Lauria moved in for 170,000 preflop and Scott made the call. Lauria tabled AK but was in big trouble against Scott’s pocket aces, AA. The flop came down Q910 and Lauria flopped tons of outs to a straight or club flush. The turn was the 4, making the flush and the river was the J to rub it in Scott’s face. Lauria doubled up and Scott was crippled with just 90,000 left. Later, Kara Scott moved in for just 70,000 and was called by Paul Baron. Baron tabled 53 while Scott held A2. The board ran out Q5659 and Scott was eliminated. Bob Lauria Doubles Bob Lauria moved all in for his final 107,000 and Ian Woodley made the call. Lauria showed AQ while Woodley tabled K6. The board ran out KQ2A2 and Lauria doubled to about 220,000. Nick Binger Eliminated Nick Binger raised preflop and Montagna Corrado repopped to 60,000. Action folded back around to Binger who moved in for 125,000 more. Corrado made the call and tabled KK. Binger showed down A10 and needed help to stay alive. The board ran out 63295 and Binger was elilminated from the main event. Cole South Hits an Ace on the River After a series of raises preflop, Cole South called the all in bet of his opponent who had about 200,000, and the hands were turned face up. South showed the AQ and was up against QQ of his opponent. The flop was 7K9, the turn was the K, and South would need an ace on the river for the win. The river was the A and South took the pot and eliminated an opponent. Action Dan Gets Caught Bluffing, Then Gets Shown The Door On the turn, with already over 400,000 in the pot already, the board read A10KK, both Dan Harrington and Charlie Elias checked and watched the 3 fall on the river. Dan Harrington then bet 350,000 on the river and Elias went into the tank for several minutes. After a while, Elias cut out the call and Harrington acknowledged the fact that Elias made a good call and tabled 89 and Elias turned up QQ. A few hands later, the flop was K92 and Eric Cloutier fired 180,000. Harrington moved in for 345,000 and the call was made. Cloutier held AK while Harrington was drawing live with AQ. But the turn was the 3 and the river was the 7 and Harrington could not make his flush, resulting in his elimination. He exited the Amazon Room to a standing ovation. Akenhead’s Kings Give Him the Chip Lead Eracles Panayiotous raised to 26,000 and was three-bet by James Akenhead to 80,000. Panayiotous made the call and the flop fell Q73 and Akenhead bet 130,000 and was called. The turn was the 8 and Akenhead bet 190,000 and was met with a raise to 430,000 from Panayiotous. Akenhead eventually makes the call and the K fell on the river. Akenhead checked and Panayiotous moved all in for about 800,000. Akenhead instantly made the call and tabled the KK, giving him top set and his opponent turned over 64, for an absolute air ball. Akenhead now has over 3,000,000 in chips and is the new chip leader for the tournament. Sebok Doubles Up With Big Slick, Proceeds to Bust Opponent Adam Lattimer raised to 26,000 and was reraised to 86,000 by Hieu Luu. Action was folded around to Joe Sebok who moved all in for 259,000. Lattimer eventually folded and Luu went into the tank. Luu eventually made the call, figuring he was priced in and showed a mere Q7 and was up against Sebok’s AK. The flop was 456, followed by the 7 on the turn, giving Luu a pair of sevens. Sebok was getting up out of his chair and putting on his jacket when the K hit the river and Sebok stayed alive. Moments later, Sebok called his opponent’s all in bet and tabled JJ. His opponent showed down 1010 and the board ran out QQ67Q, giving Sebok a better full house and the pot. He was at around 500,000. J.C. Tran Takes A Pot J.C. Tran raised to 24,000 preflop and was called by the big blind. The flop came down 1085 and action was checked to Tran. He bet out 30,000 and the big blind called. The turn was the Q and Tran fired 65,000. The big blind gave up his hand and Tran was at 260,000. Nicholle Peppe Takes A Massive 2.5 Million Pot Off Lutz On a flop of 1097, Tom Lutz bet 300,000 and Nicholle Peppe shoved for 1,099,000. Lutz made the call and the hands were turned over. Lutz: 108 Lutz gambled with his top pair and open-ended straight draw, but the turn was the 4 and the river was the 2 and Peppe doubled up in the biggest pot of the tournament. The flop came A103 and Lyndaker continued with a bet of 85,000. Ochana raised to 285,000 and Lyndaker put him all in. Ochana made the call and revealed his monster draw with QJ. Lyndaker showed his A4, but it failed to hold up when the turn and river came KK giving Ochana a Broadway straight and doubling him up to 1.3 million. Lyndaker took a hit down to 1.9 million.
Davidi Kitai raised to 102,000 and Richard Lyndaker reraised to 240,000. Kitai moved all in and Lyndaker instantly made the call. Kitai showed pocket tens, but Lyndaker held pocket kings and a stranglehold on the hand. The board came AA32A and Kitai was eliminated in sixth place, ending his hopes for a repeat bracelet.
Richard Lyndaker raised to 85,000 and Tom Lutz reraised to 210,000. Lyndaker made the call and the flop came down Q98. Lyndaker bet 275,000 and Lutz reraised to 550,000. Lyndaker moved all in and Lutz instantly called with AA, but Lyndaker showed his 99 for a flopped set. The turn and river came 42 and Lutz was eliminated in fifth place.
