The flop came KQ2, it was checked to Mizrachi who bet 200,000, Klodnicki folded and Bloch called. The turn was the 2, Bloch checked, Mizrachi bet 350,000 and Bloch called. The river was the 10, Bloch bet 500,000, Mizrachi raised to 2,500,000 and Bloch called. Mizrachi: KK97 Mizrachi flopped top set and turned a full house to win the pot and regain the chip lead with about 8.7 million, leaving Bloch on the short stack with around 1.1 million in chips. The flop came 932, Israelashvili checked, Bloch bet 60,000, Israelashvili raised all in and Bloch called. Bloch was ahead on the flop with K2 for bottom pair against Israelashvili’s nut flush draw with AJ. The turn and river were the J and the K, giving Israelashvili a flush on the turn to win the pot and double up. Israelashvili doubled up to just over 500,000 that hand while Bloch slipped down to about 3,350,000. Klodnicki Moves up the Leaderboard Shortly after being doubled through by Roland Israelashvili in a previous hand, Andy Bloch lost a big pot to chipleader Michael Mizrachi in the Limit Hold’em portion of the level. Mizrachi won the showdown with K10 for a full house on a board of K6210K in a pot that didn’t miss a bet. Mizrachi moved up to just under 8 million that hand while Bloch was left with about 3.6 million in chips. Chris Klodnicki managed to make his way up the leader board to second place over the past hour, breaking the 4-million mark after winning a big Stud 8 showdown against Michael Mizrachi. Klodnicki scooped the pot with a flush for the high hand and a seven-low, moving up to about 4.2 million that hand while Mizrachi dipped down below 7 million in chips. Andy Bloch Wins Event no. 7 ($126,363)Jun 02, '12 Level: 24 Ante: 5,000 Stephen Su Eliminated in 3rd Place ($50,332) Stephen Su entered Level 24 on the short stack with just over 10 big bets and lost a big pot to Andy Bloch right at the beginning of the level to put him down to just over 300,000. Bloch took a a big cheap lead that hand with about 925,000 and finally got the rest of Su’s chips a short while later. Barry Greenstein brought in the 3 for 5,000, Andy Bloch completed the bet to 20,000 with the A, Stephen Su raised to 40,000 with the 7, Grenstein folded and Bloch called. Bloch checked his ace high on fourth street and called a bet from Su. Bloch bet 40,000 on fifth street, Su raised all in and Bloch called. Bloch: A10Q10 — J65 Su was ahead on fifth street, when the money went in with a split pair of sevens against Bloch’s high-card straight draw. Bloch paired tens on sixth street to take the lead and Su bricked on the river, failing to improve. Andy Bloch Wins Event no. 7 ($126,363) Andy Bloch took a commanding lead going into heads-up play as a more than 3:1 chip favorite over Barry Greenstein. Greenstein lost a big pot right out of the gate, knocking him down to the 4 big bet range before finally getting it all in on fifth street with a made straight against Andy Bloch’s two pair. Barry Greenstein brought in the 5 for 5,000, Andy Bloch completed the bet to 20,000 with the J and Greenstein called. Bloch bet his jack-high on fourth street and Greenstein called. Bloch open-paired tens and bet 40,000 on fifth street and Greenstein got it all in with a made straight. Bloch: J1010A — KQQ Greenstein was out in front when the money went in on fifth street with a made eight-high straight against Bloch’s two pair. Bloch caught an ace on sixth street and a king on the river to make a broadway straight and win his first gold bracelet. Bloch went on to win another big showdown against then chipleader Stephen Su this level when he made a king-high flush with four hearts on board to take the chip lead with just under 650,000. Stephen Su returned from the dinner break with the big stack, but gave up the lead to Andy Bloch after losing a big showdown to Bloch’s flush on seventh street. Su managed to bounce back towards the end of the level after forcing both Bloch and Greenstein to check-fold off of a few hands that made it to sixth street. Su regained the chip lead once again, but not for long as Barry Greenstein joined the action and won a big showdown against Su where he made two pair on the river to kick Su off the big stack and put Bloch back out in front. After a few more minor confrontations, Stephen Su ended the level as the short stack with just over 10 big bets going into Level 24 while Bloch took the lead with 670,000, followed closely by Barry Greenstein with 530,000. Andy Bloch took a chunk of his chips one hand after open-pairing on fifth street and causing Williams to fold by betting the pair. A few hands later he lost even more chips to Huu Vinh before he went bust after a showdown where Vinh made two pair against Williams’ split pair of kings. Williams failed to improve on the river that hand and was knocked down to under 200,000 by the time the level came to end. The other three chip stacks seemed to really even out by the end of the previous level where they each went into four-handed play with 17 to 20 big bets. Williams on the other hand was down to just 5 big bets and was eliminated shortly after Level 22 began. Down to his last few bets, Williams finally got the rest of his chips in the middle with a straight draw against Stephen Su’s made two pair. Su ended up making a full house, eliminating David Williams in 4th place ($36,470). Su took the chip lead that hand and managed to snag some more from Andy Bloch who will return from the dinner break on the short stack with just 230,000 (7 big bets). Charles Alexandre Sylvestre — 260,000 Card Player Chip Counts: Josh Brikis — 97,500 Notable Eliminations: Gavin Smith Big Hands: Richey Chips Up With Set Brett Richey was heads up when his opponent bet 2,500 on a flop of 1034. Richey called and his opponent checked when the K hit on the turn. Richey bet 6,000 and his opponent made the call. On the 5 river his opponent checked and Richey bet big — 17,500. His opponent called and Richey turned over 33 for a flopped set. His opponent mucked and Richey’s stack soared to 140,000. Swick Knocked Out Mike Swick of the UFC was down to his last 11,000 or so when he got all in preflop again the player in seat 1. Their hands: Swick: AQ Swick was trailing and the board ran 69656. His opponent’s king played and Swick was eliminated early in day 2b. Andy Bloch Eliminated With the board reading 10269 on the turn, John Moore led out for 4,100 from early position and Andy Bloch raised to 11,600. After asking how much Bloch had behind, Moore made the call. The river was the 3 and Moore just moved Bloch all in. Bloch made the call and showed 99, giving him a set, but Moore showed A8, giving him the nut flush. Bloch’s Series comes to a close. He finishes with three cashes, totaling over $100,000 and a couple of near misses deep in some events. Violette Uses Some Aggression to Earn Chips Cyndy Violette called a raise from the big blind and saw a flop of 423. Violette led out for 3,000 and was called by the preflop raiser. The turn was the 9 and Violette bet 6,000, which got a call. The river was the A and she bet 3,000. The bet on the river was enough to win her the pot as her opponent mucked her hand and she increased her stack to 85,000. Kassela Flushes Opponent Frank Kassela got his opponent all-in on a flop of Q82. He had his opponent covered and was holding K9. His opponent was drawing dead when he tabled K9. The turn was the 8 and the river was the 5, which was dealt as a formality before pushing the pot to Kassela. Kassela is up to 135,000 in chips. Griffin Takes a Hit Gavin Griffin called a raise of 1,250 from a player in middle position and the player in the cutoff raised to 4,200. The original raiser folded but Griffin raised to around 20,000, enough to put the cutoff player all in. He called. Their hands: Griffin: 1010 Griffin was well behind and found no help on a board that ran 5QJ94. Griffin lost the pot and dropped to around 48,000 in chips. Pavilion Room Coverage Gavin Smith Eliminates a Player Gavin Smith raised to 1300 from middle position and a player on the button move all in for about 13,000 total. Action was folded back to Smith. He insta-called with the AK and was ahead of the AQ of his opponent. The board ran out 10107K4[[suit:diamond] and Smith recorded the knockout. He was at around 100,000 after the hand. Chris Ferguson Makes the Wrong Call On a board of A4310 a player in middle position bet 3,500 and Chris Ferguson called. The river brought the 5 and Ferguson’s opponent bet 7,000 this time. Ferguson tanked before finally making the call. His opponent tabled the QJ for a flush and Ferguson mucked. He was at about 40,000 after the hand. Johnny Lodden Eliminates a Player Johnny Lodden opened the pot from middle position and a player to his left moved all in for 5,600 total. Lodden tanked before making the call with the K10. He was ahead against the QJ of his opponent. The board ran out 998A2 and Lodden took the pot. He was at 110,000 after the hand. Ryan D’Angelo Gets Little Respect On a flop of 865 a player in the small blind bet and Ryan D’Angelo raised. His opponent quickly called. The turn brought the 3 and D’Angelos opponent checked. D’Angelo bet 9,000 and his opponent check-raised to 24,000. D’angelo insta-mucked and his opponent exposed the 1010. D’Angelo vented his frustration after the hand. David Singer was all in and Scotty Nguyen was the man putting him at risk. “I got two pair baby,” Nguyen announced. He tabled 3322 to prove it and Singer was behind. Singer squeezed out a red six, which was no help and he made his way to the exit. Hold’em Andy Bloch Eliminated Andy Bloch got his last 1,500 into the pot preflop and he was called by Matt Hawrilenko. Here were their cards: Bloch: J8 The board ran out Q65A9. Bloch could not beat Hawrilenko’s king-high and he was eliminated. Lucky Sevens For Dwan The player in seat 2 raised to 1,600 from the small blind and Tom Dwan made it three bets to 2,400. Seat 2 called and the flop came down A105. Seat 2 checked to Dwan, who fired 800. Seat 2 made the call and the turn was the 10. The action was checked to Dwan again and he bet 1,600. Seat 2 called and the 3 came on the river. Both players checked and seat 2 showed K-5. Dwan tabled 77 for the better two pair and he took the pot. He was at 43,000 after the hand. They were dealt seventh street and Thuritz bet another 1,200. Bloch made the call showing 1072Q. Thuritz had 8654 and turned over (765) for the straight. Bloch surrendered the pot and was down to his last 5,000. Lederer Can’t Call Picking up the action on fifth street, Howard Lederer led out with 1,200 and Brandon Adams jacked it up to 2,400. On sixth street, Adams did the betting with 1,200 and Lederer called. On seventh street, Adams fired another bullet of 1,200 while showing 910A5. Lederer took a session in the tank with 86Q4. He eventually released it into the muck and Adams took the pot. He was at almost 70,000 while Lederer was under 10,000. He would bust later in the level. Dwan Jacks Up Dehkharghani Picking up the action on sixth street, Ray Dehkharghani bet 1,200 and Tom Dwan made the call. On seventh street, Dehkharghani bet another 1,200 and Dwan threw in the call. Dehkharghani tabled JJ from his hole cards and Dwan had that beat as he showed 5544. Dwan took the pot and was around 34,000. Razz Lex Veldhuis Out Lex Veldhuis led the betting on sixth and seventh street and the player in seat one made the call. Veldhuis was all in with his bet on seventh and tabled 8-5-4-2-A. Seat 1 tabled his hand, which the dealer mixed up. Whatever it was, it was better than an 8-5 and Veldhuis was eliminated. The river was dealt and both players checked. The player in seat 3 simply tapped the table and mucked his hole cards. “Do I have to show?” Mercier asked. He eventually did show the victorious (J54)56QJ and took down the pot with his two pair. Juanda Bests Filippi’s Aces Picking up the action on sixth street, John Juanda bet 800 and Amnon Filippi made the call. After seventh street was dealt, both players checked and Filippi announced he only had a pair of aces in the hole. Juanda turned over (K97) to go with his 6K610 and he took down the pot with his two pair. Stud/8 Chen Takes A Pot Picking up the action on fourth street, the player in seat 8 bet 400 and Bill Chen made the call, as did Brock Parker. Seat 8 led out for 800 on fifth street and both opponents called again. All three players checked on sixth street and did the same on seventh street. The players then looked bewildered as no one seemed to have a hand they were proud to show. Finally, Chen turned over (987)4539 and his pair of nines and 8-7 low were good enough to scoop the pot. Hold’em Ferguson Bets Out Lind Action folded around to George Lind in the small blind and he raised to 800 preflop. Chris Ferguson was in the big blind and he reraised to 1,200. Lind made the call and both players saw the 1065 flop. Lind checked and Ferguson continued with a bet of 400. Lind’s hand hit the muck at the same time as Ferguson’s chips fell in the pot. Ferguson took in a small pot and was off to a good start. Omaha/8 Bloch Gets Quartered Picking up the action after the turn, the board read K768. Andy Bloch bet 800 and George Lind raised to 1,600. Bloch made the call and the 10 fell on the river. Lind bet 1,600 and Bloch made the call. Lind then turned over A2QQ for the nut-low and a pair of queens. Bloch turned over A9QQ for the other two queens. Lind took the low half and they split the high half, much to the delight of Bloch. “It was more than I thought I was getting there,” Bloch joked after the hand. Kesselman insta-called, exposing the nuts of 7-5-4-3-2. Bloch wasn’t drawing dead as he discarded a queen with his 5-4-3-2, hoping for the chop. However, a useless six sent him to the rail. Kesselman was at 665,000 after the hand. David Baker Doubles Up George Danzer bet 27,000 and David Baker called from the small blind. Both Baker and Danzer drew one card. Baker bet 51,000 and Danzer raised to 200,000. Baker moved all in for 106,000 more. Danzer called and tabled the 7-6-5-4-2 but was no good against the 7-6-4-3-2 of Baker. Baker doubled up to 696,000 and Danzer was down to 230,000. Left in the Deck: The final 8 players have combined to form the final table. Players are now on a 20-minute break. Bloch doubled to 170,000 while Monnette was down to just 90,000 after the hand. John Monnette Doubles Up Eric Kesselman moved all in from the small blind and John Monnette made the call for his tournament life from the big blind. Kesselman drew one card while Monnette stood pat. Monnette tabled the Q-J-9-8-2 and was good against the 10-7-4-4-3 of Kesselman.
