Steve Gross is the first casualty of the tournament, approximately one hour into play. There were multiple limpers into the pot preflop and Ed Perry raised it up to 300. Everyone called and saw a flop of J-7-4 with two hearts. Perry continued with a bet of 1,100 and Gross was the only called.

Sorel Mizzi just shipped 200,000 in chips over to Ed Perry who held top two pair on a board reading Q-J-9-4-X. Mizzi's K-Q never caught up and he was eliminated from the tournament.
