Lee Watkinson, originally from Cheney, Washington, is one of the most low-profile professional players on the circuit. The economics major has made a name for himself by consistently finishing in the money in the biggest tournaments in the world.
During the third season of the World Poker Tour, Watkinson managed to make back to back final tables. Watkinson finished second in each event to, respectively, Eli Elezra and Doyle Brunson. He also placed 45th out of a field of more than 5,600 players at the 2005 World Series of Poker main event, earning himself $235,390. He recently bested that finish at the 2007 WSOP main event when he finished in eighth place. He received almost $586,000.
Watkinson won his first WSOP gold bracelet in 2006, when he won a $10,000 pot-limit Omaha event to take home $655,746.
