One table that seems to be weighed down with chips has just been broken with chip leader Jamie Brown and his 1,100,000 in chips moving to the left of Phil Ivey. Ivey stared at Brown’s stack as it made its way closer to him, but showed no emotion as his eyes darted from chip to chip, adding them all up.

Chad Brown is on his table but is quite short. He just chopped a pot with Chance Kornuth when he moved all in over Kornuth’s raise of 17,500 with K 6 and was called by Kornuth and his A A. Brown got lucky however as the board came down J 9 7 8 10 and the pot was chopped.

James Carroll Eliminated in 50th Place ($29,323)

Level 18 — 2,500-5,000 with a 500 ante

James Carroll moved all in with pocket sevens in the hole and Jamie Brown made the call with A-K in the hole. Brown made a higher pair on the board and Caroll was eliminated in 50th place. He will take home $29,323 in prize money.

Jon Turner Eliminated

Level 16 — 1,500-3,000 with a 500 ante

When Jon Turner first sat down today with 31,500, he jokingly told his table that he had a 1:00 p.m. flight. He might not make that flight, but he will be heading to the airport after his 9 8 went up against Jamie Brown’s pocket aces.

The board gave Turner a nine, but he couldn’t do much else to stay alive in the tournament. Brown is now up to 465,000.

Eugene Katchalov Takes Major Hit

Level 16 — 1,500-3,000 with a 500 ante

Bart Hanson raised preflop and both Jamie Brown and Eugene Katchalov came along for the flop which fell Q-8-4.

Brown led, Katchalov raised and Hanson spent some time in thought before mucking his hand. Brown called and the two got it all in on the next card. Katchalov showed Q-8 for top two pair and Brown showed a set of eights.

Hanson then explained that he folded pocket kings and the river was a king. Hanson didn’t seem to down about his decision and Brown doubled up to over 400,000. Katchalov was left with 40,000 in chips.

Jamie Brown Eliminated in 14th Place ($60,077)

Jamie Brown moved all in from early position for 204,000 and Tim Begley moved all in over the top of him for 450,000. Everyone else mucked and the final two players flipped over their cards:

Brown: A6
Begley: A9

Board: J33QK

Begley won the hand and grew his stack to 670,000. Brown was eliminated in 14th place and he will take home $60,077.
