The Shootout tournament features a different format than a traditional Hold’em event in that players must win their table before moving on. As players win their individual tables, they take those chips with them to the next round where they must win another table and so on, until the final table is reached. With the elimination of Daniel Walker in 11th Place ($3,088), the final table is now set. Play will begin in Level 8 with blinds of 1,500-3,000 and limits of 3,000-6,000, and will continue until a winner is determined. Seats 3 and 6 called and the flop came 225. Seat 3 bet, seat 6 raised, and Deeb re-raised. Everyone called, and the turn brought the 8. Seat 3 bet, seat 6 folded and Deeb raised. Seat 3 called and on the 3 river Deeb check-called. Seat 3 showed KK and Deeb mucked. His stack was still healthy after the loss, with around 37,000 in chips. Kravchenko Flushes Meinders Entering the action after the turn on a board of 5K73, Alexander Kravchenko check-called a bet from Brian Meinders, runner-up in event No. 23. On the 8 Kravchenko led out and got a call. He flipped over J10 for a flush and Meinders mucked. Kravchenko had around 31,000 after the hand. The Professor In Getting Short Howard Lederer check-raised Erik Sagstrom’s bet on a flop of K63 and was called. Lederer then led out on the Q turn and Sagstrom put in a raise. Lederer called and again check-called Sagstrom on the Q river. Sagstrom showed Q6 for a full house and The Professor dropped to 3,100 in chips. Sagstrom was up to 42,000 after the hand. Dutch Boyd Wins Event No. 23Jun 14, '10 Boyd Wins Event No. 23, Meinders Finishes Runner Up ($$144,650) After gradually overcoming a 2-1 chip deficit, Dutch Boyd established a commanding chip lead and got Brian Meinders’ last few chips all in pre-flop. Their hands: Boyd: J10 The board ran J2978, giving Boyd a straight and his second WSOP bracelet. Boyd also took the first-place money of $234,065. Meinders capped an impressive showing with a runner-up finish that earned him $144,650. The hands: Denotaristefani: A4 The river blanked and Minnullin’s pocket jacks sent Domenico to the rail in 5th place, for which he earned $43,117. Parmann Finished in 4th Place ($62,769) Julian Parmann raised and was called by Brian Meinders. Parmann was short on chips and bet his last 20,000 blind before the cards came out, and Meinders made the call blind. Their hands: Parmann: KJ Parmann was the favorite but on the flop Meinder took the lead and never lost it. It came Q510, pairing Meinder.
