Fougeron Feels RelievedNov 16, '08 Frenchman Thomas Fougeron made a 4,000 bet on a board reading Q65J and had his opponent scratching his head. The player had Fougeron covered but it was effectively an all in pot for both had he decided to get involved. It looked for a minute that he would. Counting out his chips and watching Fougeron fidget. "If you fold, I'll show you," said the Frenchman several times. "You'll show me?" asked his opponent finally and folded his cards. Fougeron was as good as his word and flipped over K-K. His opponent showed no emotion but Fougeron seemed mightily relieved.

European Action On a board of K654 Swede William Thorsson called a bet of 1,200. The turn fell the 5 and Thorsson slowly shook his head as his opponent bet 2,000. “Aces” he said to his opponent – less a question and more a statement of fact. “How did you know?,” was the reply. Thorsson counted his chips out twice and finally made the call but as he threw his chips in the middle he held his cards over the muck with his other hand. His opponent flashed the aces. “How did you know,” he asked again while raking in the chips. Elsewhere Englishman Mickey Wernick snatched a nice pot from Greg Raymer and has around 25,000 in chips. Hendon Mobster Ram Vaswani is the button to recent Irish Open winner Neil Channing’s big blind and both have just over their starting stacks. EPT boss John Duthie has 22,900 in chips and relaxing with a massage, Barny Boatman was pushed off two pots in a row just before the end of level one but still has around his starting stack while former Swedish international soccer star Tomas Brolin is on a comfortable 37,000. Michael Trimby's Trips TerrorApr 12, '08 Northern Irish man Michael Trimby who final tabled a World Series of Poker tournament last year was spotted at the rail looking extraordinarily glum. A few expletives later we get to the bottom of the story. "I ran into trips four hands in a row," he groaned. "Absolutely unbelievable. The first time i had A-K on a K-Q-4 flop and the guy had queens. The very next hand i got A-K again and the flop was K-J-6 and the guy had jacks. Then about 10 minutes later, blind on blind, with 33 Vs 66 and the flop was 10-6-3 then the hand that did me was trip quees. Its hard to believe except is...." he trailed off, shaking his head.
