Big Hands:
Adam Schoenfeld Eliminated
Adam Schoenfeld raised all in from the big blind with the KJ after Thomas Declerck opened to 24,000. Unfortunately for Schoenfeld, he ran into the AA of Declerck. The flop came AK3 and Schoenfeld was in deep trouble. The 8 on the turn had Schoenfeld drawing dead and he went to the rail. Declerck was up to 575,000 after the hand.
Anders Taylor Eliminated
Manuel Davidian bet 24,000 from middle position. Anders Taylor moved all in for 121,000. Davidian called and exposed the A9 and was ahead of the KJ of Taylor. The flop was disastrous for Taylor as it came A99. The turn offered no outs and he was eliminated on an inconsequential river card.
Adam Etter Doubles Up
Adam Etter moved all in preflop for 270,000 with the AK and was called by the AQ of Filippo Candio. The board ran out J9589 and Etter doubled to 565,000. Candio was down to 480,000.
Frederik Jensen Eliminated
Over at the feature table, Frederik Jensen moved all in for 195,000 preflop and was called by Tomas MacNamara. Jensen tabled the AA and was in great shape versus the 99 of MacNamara. The flop came Q54 and looked good for Jensen. However, the 9 on the turn and 9 on the river gave Jensen’s opponent quads. Jensen was eliminated. MacNamara was up to 745,000 after the hand.
Allie Prescott Eliminated
Greg Schaefer bet 25,000. Allie Prescott raised to 65,000 from the cutoff. Schaefer four-bet to 205,000. Prescott tanked before finally moving all in. Schaefer called all in for over 300,000 more. Prescott tabled the KK and was in good shape against the AK of Schaefer. However, the board ran out AJ55Q. Prescott was down to just 50,000 after the hand and was eliminated shortly thereafter.
Cole South Crippled, Eliminated
Cole South made a raise preflop and his opponent moved all-in for his last 125,000. After South got a count, he opted to make the call.
South showed AQ and he was going to need help against the AK of his opponent. The flop gave South some more hope as it came 448, giving him a flush draw, along with some chop outs, along with his queen.
The turn was the 5 and the river was the 10s and South dropped to just 70,000.
South was eliminated a few orbits later when his K-Q failed to improve against his opponent’s pocket queens.
Brikis Wins a Flip and Eliminates an Opponent
Josh Brikis raised to 30,000 from early position and got a call from the player directly to his left. A player from middle position then moved all in for 169,000 more.
Brikis then made a re-raise to isolate the all-in player and the other player got out of the way. Brikis tabled QQ and was racing against his opponent’s AK.
“I didn’t think you had a hand that good,” said Brikis.
The board ran out 10810102 and Brikis’ queens took the pot and Brikis climbed 1,700,000.
Grinder Makes Middle Pair Work
The board read AK2Q on the turn and there was already close to 100,000 in the middle of the table. Michael Mizrachi checked over to his opponent, who bet 53,000.
Mizrachi made the call and they saw the 6 fall on the river. Both players checked and Mizrachi announced that he had a king as he showed the KJ. His opponent was furious as he slammed his cards into the muck face down and Mizrachi took the pot and climbed to 575,000.
Clock Gets Called and Thorson Wins
The final board read A4K96 and a player checked over to William Thorson, who bet 125,000, which was about the size of the pot.
This sent the player deep into the tank for several minutes. As a floorman was walking by, another player at the table grabbed the floor’s attention and opted to call the clock.
The countdown got all the way down under 10 seconds before the other player folded. “I couldn’t put you on a hand,” the player said. Thorson just gave him a wry smile as he stacked his newly acquired chips.
