Peter Jetten – 684,000 Notable Eliminations: Jason Lester Big Hands: Makhija Busts Minnullin Albert Minnullin raised to 25,000 from the button and Amit Makhija reraised from the big blind. Minnullin then came over the top with all of his chips and Makhija made the call. Minnullin tabled QJ but was dominated by Makhija’s AQ. The board ran out AJ910A to give Makhija trip aces and send Minnullin out the door. Makhija was at 184,000. Calderaro Doubles Through Thumy Clement Thumy raised to 17,000 and James Calderaro made the call from the cutoff. The flop came down Q33 and Thumy bet 18,000. Calderaro called and the 7 came on the turn. Both players checked and the river was the 9. Thumy bet 56,000 and Calderaro shoved for 110,000. After a few moments of thought Thumy called. Calderaro then tabled 77 for a full house and Thumy mucked. Calderaro doubled to 590,000 while Thumy was down to 420,000. Jason Lester Busts, Hand For Hand Commences Jason Lester found himself all in preflop against Peter Jetten. Lester was holding AK, but was in deep trouble against Jetten’s KK. The board ran out 85577 and Lester was eliminated. With his elimination the field was down to 28, resulting in the beginning of hand-for-hand play until the money bubble bursts. Mike Matusow Triples Up And Bursts Money Bubble In Process Mike Matusow moved all in for 33,000 before the flop and Ilya Bulychev moved all in right behind him. Both players were called by Konstantin Bucheri. Matusow tabled AK, Bulychev showed KQ and Bucheri showed AQ. The board ran out 987108 and Matusow’s ace-high held up. He tripled up to over 100,000 and Bulychev was the bubble boy as he lost the side pot with Bucheri. Minnulliin thought for a bit and folded his hand. Thumy then rubbed salt in the wound, showing AJ for jack-squat. Thumy took in the pot and took the chip lead with 605,000. Jace Eliminated Clement Thurny raised to 8,500 from the hijack position and he was called by the blinds. The flop came down Q95 and Daryl Jace led out for 15,000 from the small blind. Albert Minnullin made the call from the big blind and Thurny got out of the way. The turn was the A and Jace moved all in for 35,000. Minnullin made the call and turned over Q2 while Jace showed down A8. Minnullin needed help and got it when the 2 fell on the river and Jace was eliminated. Petterson Cripples Meyers Brandon Meyers raised to 8,000 and received three calls. The flop came down 642 and Meyers bet 18,000. Thomas Petterson raised all in for almost 50,000. Meyers made the call, having Petterson covered. He showed 88 but Petterson was better with 1010. The turn was the 7 and the river was the 9 and Meyers dropped to just 30,000. Simon Morris raised from the button and Greg DeBora put his last 25,000 in from the big blind. Morris held the 75, but needed help against DeBora’s A3. The board ran out 721066, giving Morris a pair of sevens and the pot. Now all 18 players remaining are guaranteed a payday of $22,809. Kenny Hsiung Eliminated It was a classic race situation when Kenny Hsiung got his last chips into the middle preflop with 1010 against Jameson Painter’s AK. Painter won the race as the board ran out 4433K and Hsiung was eliminated in 18th place, with a parting gift of $22,809. Gianluca Marcucci Eliminated Gianluca Marcucci raised under-the-gun and Jameson Painter three-bet from the big blind. Marcucci committed the last of his chips and showed K9 and was up against Painter’s AQ. The board ran out Q84J4, giving the pot to Painter and send Marcucci home. Marcucci left $22,809 richer. Matthew Gallin Eliminated Matthew Gallin raised preflop and was reraised by Brock Parker. Gallin moved all in for a fourth bet and Parker called. Parker was in bad shape when he saw that Gallin had KQ and Parker held K10. The flop came J6Q, giving Gallin top pair, but Parker a straight draw. The turn was a blank, the 6, but the 9 on the river gave Parker the nut straight and the pot. The turn was the 7, but Parker hit an ace on the river to send Newhouse home just a few spots before the money. Christoph Kwon Eliminated Mark Klecan raised from the cutoff and Christoph Kwon three-bet from the small blind. Klecan made the call and the flop was 356. Kwon bet and was called by Klecan. The J fell on the turn and Kwon moved his last 4,000 into the middle and was called by Klecan. Klecan had 44 and Kwon had KQ and needed to pair up to win the hand.
