Nachman Berlin Eliminated in 2nd Place ($419,173)
Nachman Berlin had the chip lead going into Level 24 with 8.6 million to Andre Akkari’s 4.3 million, but quickly lost it after Akkari doubled through him with K K against A 10 early in the level. That hand put Akkari in the lead for the first time this evening with more than 10.6 million to Berlin’s 2.2 million.
Shortly after being doubled through and left on the short stack, Nachman Berlin open-shoved the button before the flop for 1,920,000 and Andre Akkari called from the big blind.

Slow Start, Akkari Doubles Up to Even
Nachman Berlin started the unscheduled fourth day of this event as the chip leader with roughly 9.5 million in chips to Andre Akkari’s 3.4 million. The first two levels of the day went rather slowly and Berlin managed to keep a somewhat constant chip advantage of between 2 and 3:1 until about halfway through Level 33 when Akkari doubled up to nearly even in the following pot.
Andre Akkari called from the button before the flop, Nachman Berlin shoved from the big blind and Akkari called all in.

The board came A 8 3 3 9, giving Akkari top two pair on the flop to win the pot. Akkari doubled up to roughly 6.1 million while Berlin took his first major hit of the day down to 6.775 million.
Although Akkari was able to considerably narrow the gap this past level, Berlin fought back towards the end and was able to regain a 2:1 lead with 8.6 million to Akkari’s 4.3 million by the time Level 34 began.

Berlin Leads Overnight
Play ended for the night shortly before 3:30 am and Nachman Berlin took the overnight chip lead heading into an unscheduled Day 4. Nachman Berlin Takes Chip Lead
Matthew Carmody started Level 26 as the chip leader but took an early hit after Nachman Berlin doubled through him with a set of jacks. Carmody continued to lose chips that level, ultimately surrendering the lead to Nachman Berlin as Level 27 rolled around.
Berlin won a huge (1.2 million) pot off of Carmody in Level 27 with aces full of deuces, cementing the chip lead with 5 million to Carmody’s 3 million. All four stacks seemed to really even out as Level 27 came to an end and with all four players now extremely close in chips, this is still anyone’s game.
