Chiduziem Obi raised preflop and Mark Mierkalns reraised enough to put Obi all in with K9 in the hole. Obi called with the Q4 and the board was dealt K7339. Obi was eliminated on the hand in fourth place and Mierkalns was up to 1.3 million.
Malissia Zapata Doubles Twice
Malissia Zapata got the last of her chips in holding A-9 on a K-9-8 board and it was enough to top the 7-5 of Mark Meirkalns. Zapata was over 100,000 and she got the last of her chips in again a few hands later.
This time she held K-7 suited against the 10-2 suited of Mierkalns on a rainbow board that finished out A-K-2-3-6. After that hand she was up to 300,000 but was still in trouble with the big blind at 50,000.

Malissia Zapata limped preflop and Brent Wheeler raised. Zapata called and the flop was dealt Q84. Zapata checked, Wheeler bet, and Zapata raised. Wheeler called and the turn fell J. Zapata bet, Wheeler raised, and Zapata called all in with Q4. Wheeler had her dominated with QJ and after the 5 fell on the river Zapata was eliminated in third place. Wheeler also called and the flop was dealt AJ9. Wheeler checked, Mierkalns bet, and Wheeler check-called. The turn fell 6 and Wheeler checked. Mierkalns bet and Wheeler thought for a moment before folding.
Scoggin held 109, but his tournament came to an end when Mierkalns turned over AA for a set, and the meaningless river came 7. Scoggin was eliminated in fifth place and Mierkalns was into the chip lead with 1,138,000.
