Stairway To Millions Heads To The Venetian ® Resort Las Vegas

PokerGO’s Stairway To Millions series heads to The Venetian ® Resort Las Vegas for its second edition. The series takes place Sept. 8-20, 2022, and offers $2,150,000 in guaranteed prize money across 12 different tournaments.

Thanks to its unique format, the Stairway To Millions creates the perfect tournament ladder system and gives players the opportunity to turn rags into riches.

This edition of the series features the same element of progressing through the levels, as players who cash in one buy-in level automatically get entry for the next. New for this second edition, however, is that the players who finish in the top three of an event qualify to skip a level entirely.

While you may think this format sounds like a satellite, there is also the element of regular payouts in each tournament.

“We constantly look for ways to expand our offerings for our players,” said Tommy LaRosa, tournament director for The Venetian Resort Las Vegas Poker Room. “This Stairway To Millions tournament series is exciting because it provides someone a chance to ladder up from a $400 buy-in to the $50,000 main event, giving them the unique opportunity to play in a high-roller tournament for a fraction of the buy-in.”

Last year, Nick Petrangelo won the inaugural Stairway To Millions, taking down both of the final two events and making four final tables overall to win the trophy and a combined $1.8 million in cashes.

The 2022 edition starts with not one, but two $460 buy-in tournaments. Both are two-day events with $25,000 prize pool guarantees. On Sept. 10, the third event of the series kicks off, a $900 buy-in with a $50,000 prize pool guarantee, and the next day is more of the same.

The prize pools hit a guaranteed six figures for the fifth and sixth event of the series. This time, it’s a $1,640 buy-in and $100,000 guarantees. Then comes the $2,740 level and the $5,350 level, both also sporting $100,000 guarantees.

The buy-in hits five figures with the $10,400 event with a $200,000 guarantee. This tournament and all subsequent events come with a fee discount for players who register on time, only paying $200 in fees instead of $400.

The final three stages of the Stairway To Millions feature buy-ins of $15,800, $26,000, and $52,000. The $15,800 level has a $300,000 prize pool guarantee, the $26,000 level has a $500,000 prize pool guarantee, and the $52,000 finale is the largest of the series with a $600,000 guarantee.

The first eight events of this Stairway To Millions series allow for unlimited re-entry, with entry open for the first seven levels of play. The four final events have double re-entry.

In the first six events, levels are 30 minutes in length. From event 7-11, the levels are 40 minutes in length. In the $52,000 finale, levels are 45 minutes long until registration closes, then kick up to 60 minutes after the close of registration. Each tournament will have a 30-second poker shot clock in play.
