The 2022 Poker Masters will run from Sept. 21 – Oct. 3 from inside the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino with a 12-event schedule set to award millions of dollars in prize money across nearly two weeks of high-stakes poker tournament action.
For the players competing in the fifth installment of the Poker Masters from Las Vegas, they will all be competing for the $50,000 championship bonus and the purple jacket. Whoever can accrue the most PokerGO Tour (PGT) points throughout the series will join Steffen Sontheimer, Ali Imsirovic, Sam Soverel, and Michael Addamo as champions.
In September 2021, the Poker Masters returned after nearly a two-year absence from the tournament calendar. There would be record numbers across many of the events as PGT regulars Shannon Shorr, Sean Perry, Adam Hendrix, Brock Wilson, Maxx Coleman, and Chris Brewer all won titles, while poker heavyweights Daniel Negreanu, Stephen Chidwick, and Mikita Badziakouski also found the winner’s circle.
Michael Addamo arrived late in the series and won the final two events, kickstarting an epic high roller run that continued for two months. The Australian defeated a 34-entrant field in the 50,000 high roller to win $680,000, and then he won the 29-entrant $100,000 high roller for another $1,160,000. Having earned the most PGT points with his two wins, Addamo was awarded the Purple Jacket.
“It’s extremely important,” Addamo said of the importance of preparing off the felt. “I’ve put in so many hours studying the game, and I still feel like every time I get humbled and that there’s still so many things to learn. But it’s incredibly important and you can see who has been putting in the work and who hasn’t.”
Addamo used his Poker Masters as a springboard to even more success by winning Super High Roller Bowl VI and two WSOP bracelets to finish the year with more than $9 million on the live felt in 2021.
The 2022 Poker Masters will see 12 events throughout the series with players that register on time having the rake waived on their entry. All events start at 12 p.m. PT from inside the PokerGO Studio except for the $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em finale that begins at 2 p.m. PT.
Players will receive six 30-second time extensions per entry and are allowed two re-entries in each event except for the $50,000 finale which is a single re-entry.
Each final table of the 2022 Poker Masters will stream exclusively on PokerGO.com the following day after it begins. Cards are in the air at 12 p.m. PT, while the PokerGO stream will start at 1 p.m. PT with a rotating crew of commentators.
Watch all the Poker Masters final tables exclusively on PokerGO.com from Sept. 22 – Oct. 3, 2022.
