Extreme weather conditions delayed the first event of season II by a day, but despite snow storms and airport closures, the event went on, and even managed to break its €250,000 guarantee.

Abou Risk, a 25-year-old Canadian, who lives in Ireland’s capital city, walked away with €67,100, a crystal vase, and the title, which he can add to his other UKIPT title from season I. This makes him the first player to win two UKIPT titles.

Abou Risk started the day as chip leader, and persisted until he held the winner’s crystal vase. His final opponent was local amateur Trish Mallin. In the ultimate hand of the event Mallin moved all in on a 10Diamond Suit 9Heart Suit 5Spade Suit 4Heart Suit board holding 8Club Suit 7Heart Suit. Abou Risk called with 10 Heart Suit 2Heart Suit and caught the 10Spade Suit on the river for trips. Mallin went home with €41,300 for second place.
