Chris Oliver Leads PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main EventOnly 48 Players Remain Gunning For $2.3 Million First Place Prize |
|
With the top prize of $2.3 million up for grabs, you’d expect a deliberate and cautious approach from the players still remaining in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event. Instead, day 3 produced some of the wildest action seen on the tournament circuit in recent memory.
A total of 173 players began the day, but just nine hours later, tournament officials were forced stop play due to the speed at which the field was busting. With only 48 remaining, it’s hard to believe that there is still four calendar days before a winner is crowned.
Leading the way heading into day 4 is Chris “Gettin Daize” Oliver, who was an absolute knockout machine during his time on the felt. The online pro used his aggression to put maximum pressure on his opponents and those who were brave enough to look him up found that he could come from behind as well. With 3,675,000, Oliver now has nearly four times the average.
Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker represented his site well and finished the day with 1,636,000, good enough for fifth place. Other notables include Mike Sowers (1,360,000), Eric Froehlich (1,187,000), Sam Stein (970,000), Eddy Sabat (918,000) and day 2 chip leader Adam Geyer (435,000).
Play will resume Wednesday at noon EST and continue until the final 24 remain. Check out the overnight chip counts below.
