Jason Mercier Leads PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High RollerMolson Gunning For His Third Straight Final Table Appearance |
|
While the main event played out in a sequestered room, the $25,000 High Roller event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure was front and center for all to see in the ballroom at Atlantis.
A total of 90 players remained from the original 151 that bought in, but all had goals of making the money at 16 and advancing to Sunday’s final table. The relatively low blinds and big stacks were too much to overcome, however, and tournament officials were forced to call it a day at 2:30 a.m. with 12 players remaining.
Those finishing in the money included Ty Reiman (16th), Brett Richey (15th), Ravi Raghavan (14th) and Rob Akery (13th).
The final 12 players will return on Sunday at noon to battle down to a champion, who will make $1,072,850. The field is still stacked with notables, including chip leader Jason Mercier, David Baker, Tom Marchese, Erik Seidel and Matt Affleck.
Matt Marafioti is also still in the hunt, hoping to improve upon his seventh place finish in 2010. Even more impressive, fellow Canadian Will Molson is seeking his third straight final table appearance after finishing runner up in both 2009 and 2010.
