Alessio Isaia, who recently became the first Italian to win a World Poker Tour title, was just one player away from victory in the €2,200 buy in PokerStars Italian Poker Tour Malta earlier this week.
He was beaten into second place by Giacomo Loccarini who topped the 237 strong field for €122,000 at Casino Portomaso on the Mediterranean island.
