Jeff Shulman Does It Again: Wins Another PSIT 3 Match

He Now Sits on Top of Leaderboard with 32 Points

With only one set of elimination matches to go in the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament 3, a surprise name sits on top of the leaderboard with the most points: Jeff Shulman.

Shulman, who has a day job many Card Player Magazine readers may know about (he's the CEO), won his second match, adding 10 points to the 22 he brought to the match. His 32 points vaulted him past Antonio Esfandiari (29 points) for the lead. Each player has one more elimination match to go. Shulman also earned $10,000 for his win.

The top 16 players make it through to the second round, and with one match to go, Sunday's elimination match that aired on FSN was important for several players.

Cyndy Viollette brought only 9 points to her fourth match. She battled Shulman heads-up in a contest that saw three split pots at the river. The seven points she earned for second place gives here a real shot at making the second round (a victory will certainly do it).

Johnny Chan was knocked out in third place, and now has 20 points with one match to go. If the contest ended after four matches, he'd move on to the next round.

Todd Brunson added 3 points to the 16 he brought to the match for finishing in fourth, and will have to do better next week to make it into the second round.

Freddy Deeb walked away with 1 point for finishing fifth in his fourth round. He now has 17 points.

And Joe Hachem earned 0 points for being the first player eliminated in Match 16, tying him with Chris Moneymaker with 12 points. Greg Raymer is even in worse shape with 10 points and one match to go. There's a good chance that none of the last three World Series of Poker main event winners will make it into the next round.

PSIT 3 airs every Sunday on FSN at 8 p.m. local times. Click here for CardPlayer.com's complete Internet coverage of the series.
