The latest edition of Card Player Magazine is now available online and features young high-stakes pro Dan “Jungleman12” Cates, who was online poker’s biggest winner in 2010 with over $5.5 million in earnings.
The cover story focuses on Cates’ journey from $5 homegames to the nosebleed games on Full Tilt Poker against the likes of Phil Ivey, Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom and Tom Dwan, who he is currently crushing in the Durrrr Challenge.
“At one point pretty early on, I had a dream of playing Ivey at blinds of $500-$1,000,” Cates remembered. “It became a reality not too long ago. I once thought, or at least hoped, it would happen. I think it was somewhat of a fantasy at first, in the beginning. I thought I had some kind of shot, but I had no idea how real it was.”
