Triton Poker’s largest turnout for a $100,000 main event had previously been 216 entries. That record was not only surpassed in this year’s Triton Poker Jeju $100,000 no-limit hold’em main event, it was well and truly smashed. A total of 285 entries were made by the time registration closed, resulting in a staggering $28,500,000 prize pool.
The incredible surge in attendance resulted in seven-figure payouts for the top six, with multi-million-dollar scores for the top four and $5,555,000 for the eventual champion. That figure was ultimately awarded to China’s Huang Wenjie, who overcame a stacked final table to secure his first Triton title and his first seven-figure score.
The 2024 World Series of Poker Online $10,000 heads-up no-limit hold’em champion now has more than $6.9 million in career earnings under his belt. He also secured 2,280 Card Player Player of the Year points, enough to catapult him into seventh place in the 2025 POY standings presented by Global Poker despite this being his first qualified score of the year.
The top 47 finishers earned a share of the gigantic prize pool in this event, with big names like Isaac Haxton (26th), Michael Soyza (21st), Alex Foxen (19th), and $25,000 WPT Global Slam event winner from this series Anatoly Filatov (11th) all running deep.
Two-time bracelet winner Santhosh Suvarna was out in front when the final table was set, with Huang not too far behind in third chip position. Suvarna scored the first knockout, winning a race against the A-J of James Hopkins (9th – $570,000) with pocket tens. Clemen Deng soon followed in eighth place ($695,000). He lost the majority of his stack when his pocket aces were cracked by the K-10 of back-to-back WSOP $50,000 Poker Players Championship winner Dan Cates. Not long after that, Deng’s remaining chips were captured by Huang, who won with a set of fives.

Cates, known to many as ‘Jungleman,’ then found pocket aces himself and had them hold against the A-K suited of Jose ‘Nacho’ Barbero (7th – $946,000) to narrow the field to six contenders.
European Poker Tour champion Aliaksei Boika was the next to fall, with his A-J unable to best the K-10 suited of two-time bracelet winner Artur Martirosian. The Russian flopped a pair of tens and held from there to end Boika’s run in sixth place ($1,288,000).
Bracelet winner and Triton champion Sam Greenwood was coolered out of this event, with his pocket jacks running into the pocket kings of Huang. Greenwood earned $1,687,000 as the fifth-place finisher, the fifth-largest career cash for the Canadian poker pro. He now has more than $42.1 million in recorded scores under his belt after this performance.
Suvarna was at the bottom of the leaderboard during four-handed play. He managed one double up, but was soon all-in again with 107
(shoved from the button) trailing the K

of Huang, who called the six blind shove from the big blind. Suvarna flopped top pair, but the turn brought a king to put Huang back out in front. The river was a blank and Suvarna headed to the payout desk to collect his latest huge tournament payday of $2,140,000. The Indian player now has nearly $17.4 million in lifetime cashes.
The next big hand spelled the end of Martirosian’s tournament. He limped from the small blind for 600,000 with J10
and Huang raised to 2,000,000 from the big blind with 5
