Luca Pagano celebrated his first major tournament takedown on home soil with a win in the San Remo leg of the Italian Poker Tour. The victory scored him €210,000 as he left 425 crushed souls in his wake.
Pagano’s final opponent was Romanian player Dan Murariu. Murariu’s Q 9 could not better the Italian’s A Q on a board of 8 7 2 J 3 and it was all over.
Pagano first came to public attention when he finished third at EPT Barcelona seven years ago and since then the likeable Italian has cashed in a record 18 EPT tournaments, this includes six final tables.
The Italian Poker Tour will pull into Nova Gorica next and will bring with it plenty of action from Sept. 1 to 5.
