Meet The November Nine -- Badih Bounahra49 Year-Old Belizean Enters Final Table in Sixth Place |
|
Badih Bounahra, a 49-year-old businessman, is easily the oldest player at a World Series of Poker main event final table full of young poker professionals. Born in Lebanon, Bounahra now lives in Belize City.
Despite poker being merely a hobby, Bounahra has built up nearly $60,000 in tournament earnings by making a couple of final tables in Bellagio preliminary events and cashing three times in three different years at the Aruba Poker Classic.
When play resumes in November, Bounahra will take a seat behind 19,700,000 in chips, which is good for sixth place overall. With many tough opponents and a middle-of-the-pack stack, Bounahra will have a tough fight, but anything is possible and the Belizean seems excited and honored for the chance to play for a shot at poker history.
Card Player TV caught up with Bounahra shortly after he made the final table to learn more.
