Betfair Poker Revenue Up 13 PercentThird Quarter Poker Revenue Rises to £5.9 Million at Betting Exchange |

Betfair Plc, owner of BetfairPoker.com, today announced a 13 percent rise in online poker revenue in the third quarter of financial year 2011/12.
Poker revenue jumped to £5.9 million in the three months to the end of January 2012 from £5.2 million a year earlier. The increase would have been higher – 20 percent – but for the company pulling out of the Italian market.
Average revenue per user grew 18 percent to £87 from £74 while active players decreased five percent to 67,000 from 71,000.
In the nine months to end January 2012 poker revenue was up one percent to £16.7 million from £16.6 million.
BetfairPoker is part of the Ongame Network which has just been sold to U.S. gaming operator Shuffle Master.
Earlier this year Betfair Poker signed former World Series of Poker main event champion Peter Eastgate and fellow Dane Stefan Raffay.
