Giacomo Fundaro Wins World Poker Tour Mazagan

Frenchman Wins $168,000 At Moroccan Beach Restort

Giacomo Fundaro has won the World Poker Tour Mazagan main event at Mazagan Beach resort in Morocco.

The €3,500 re-entry no-limit hold’em event attracted 146 entires with 18 players getting paid.

Davidi Kitai, 21st in the Card Player Player of the Year race before the event started, led the final table at the start of the day but Fundaro doubled up through him and this set him up to begin dismantling the rest of the field.

Bruno Fitoussi was the first player out and Kitai’s earlier slip set him up for an early exit in fourth and a move up to 16th in the POY standings.

Heads up between Fundaro and Frederic Brunet it took 90 minutes before the first all in was seen and won by Fundaro to even up the chips stacks then another 60 minutes before the next.

This time it was fatal for Brunet who was short stacked and shoved with QHeart Suit 9Heart Suit and called by Fundaro AClub Suit 3Heart Suit which hit an ace on the flop and catapulted Fundaro to a hard fought victory.
