NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship To Return

Show That Had Classic Hellmuth vs. Dwan Moment Back In January

The NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship, a causality of Black Friday, will return in late January, the show’s production company announced early Thursday via Twitter.

The TV episodes will begin airing in March and run for six consecutive weeks.

The invitational pitted 64 players against each other in a single-elimination heads-up format. Phil Hellmuth won first in 2005, followed by Ted Forrest (2006), Paul Wasicka (2007), Chris Ferguson (2008), Huck Seed (2009), Annie Duke (2010) and Erik Seidel (2011).

The TV show had many memorable poker moments of the years. Here’s a look at one of the classic heads-up matches before the tournament took a one-year hiatus.
