For many people the New Year heralds a new beginning and poker players are not immune from setting themselves challenges and adopting resolutions in an attempt to improve their lives.
Many of them took to Twitter to share their hopes, dreams and expectations for the year ahead and none more so that Sam Trickett who moved towards 2013 with big plans for his future:
I havent got round to telling everyone yet,but if u havent heard i proposed to @natashasandhu last night……!!! she said yes #thankgod ha!

He followed up the next day with another positive pronouncement:

However not everyone was so upbeat. Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott started the New Year having a moan:

Card Player’s 2012 European Player of the Year started the New Year under the gun – the laser gun that is:
