The Poker Players Alliance, a lobbying group working on Capitol Hill, went to New Jersey this week to meet with a member of Gov. Chris Christie’s office.

The PPA said in a “Weekly Update” post to its website that its executive director, John Pappas, met a “senior member of Gov. Christie’s administration to represent the poker community on this important legislation and to encourage the governor to sign the bill.”

According to the PPA, the meeting went “very well.”

A piece of legislation that would legalize online gambling in the Garden State currently sits in Christie’s hands. He has until Thursday, Feb. 7 to make a decision.

Christie did express two significant concerns with the bill during a radio appearance last week. He also vetoed a similar proposal in 2011.
