Israeli plc 888.com saw business-to-consumer poker revenue grow 44 percent in 2012 to $88 million from $61 million a year earlier.

Fourth quarter (Oct-Dec 2012) poker revenue jumped 31 percent to $24 million up from $19 million in the same period of 2011.

The company said the expansion was as a result of, “the strength of our product and our successful marketing efforts”

Towards the end of 2012 the company was granted a license to operate online poker in Germany and set in motion plans to establish a Facebook gambling platform.

The number of active customers grew 22 percent to 390,000 in the fourth quarter while quarterly revenue per active poker customer was up 7 percent to US$62 in the same period.

The company said its continuing strong performance into 2013 was driven primarily by poker and newly regulated markets.

Chief executive officer, Brian Mattingly, commented, "The quarter ended an excellent year of performance for 888, as we achieved record revenues in both the quarter and the year as a whole. This success was driven by our core Casino and Poker offerings, as well as our activities in newly regulated markets.

“Our success in Spain and Italy shows that we have the right product and technology led marketing to make significant inroads into new markets, and we will look to repeat that success in other regulating territories.”

“In addition we are experiencing a significant increase in customer recruitment and revenue from mobile platforms and, given our focus and commitment to investment in mobile, see this is as just the beginning of an increasing trend. 2013 has started strongly and we therefore remain confident of future growth."

Full year 2012 revenue at 888.com, which also operates bingo, casino, social gaming and sports book products, grew 13 percent to $376 million from $311 million in 2011.
